Line opens at -21.5 so I was way off

Implied score of 83 to 61.5

It would shock most to know that our team plays nearly equally as slow at 243rd. This is the slowest play style since 2020 and the second (ranked) slowest of a BU team since SFA. This has to be the most significant tempo shifts season-to-season, and makes me think of Ryan Hammer and the Trapezoid of Excellence (edit: to clarify, we used to live over on the right side with Alabama):Rutgers is 279th in pace, so yeah they slow it down
Total opened at 156.5 vs PSU and they're 266th in pace, so that's why I thought it seemed maybe 7-10 pts less than it should be, idk

I suppose to answer my own question the more I think about it, I think it has to do with the offensive rebounding scheme. If you're getting a ton of offensive rebounds you're scoring more in less possessions and also spending more time on one side of the court. No wasted possessions instead of the Nate Oats style get the ball off fast and get back on D. Idk curious for smarter minds on it though.87.1 ppg with 243rd ranked pace

Can't even remember when it was that I had looked it up and we were in the 190s, must've been at least a couple of weeks ago (or I'm misremembering that)
I heard that about Peds State too but they ended up giving us a game…just can’t take conference games for granted.Anything less than beating those guys by 25 will be disappointing. Rutgers stinks.
It has to do with the Oreb we do. We have to find ways to steal possessions since we don’t create a lot of turnovers and crashing the offensive boards is the way to do it which then when we don’t get put-backs or kick out 3s we get another 20 seconds to run actions…on the flip side think about our tempo if we were creating a ton of turnovers a game defensively.I suppose to answer my own question the more I think about it, I think it has to do with the offensive rebounding scheme. I know this is looking ahead to the next game but Iowa is #347 in tempo. Will be interesting to see the spread and over/under for that one. Complete opposite of Fran’s Iowa teams. It would shock most to know that our team plays nearly equally as slow at 243rd. I want see Petro more because I think he likes to run and pass to people on the break.
I’ve seen him pass on the break one time this year and it was way after he should’ve passed itLast year KJ did not like to push the ball up the floor so we rarely got easy fast break baskets. We also did not have players who sprinted down the court calling for the ball. Tomas, Ben, Morez, Tre are not speedsters.
This year Keagan and Kylan don't push the ball up the floor. David likes to throw the long outlet pass. Surprising Big Z is often leading the break. Andrej is great in open court so anytime he gets all before defense is set he takes it to the hoop.

The fascination with petro is incredible on this board for a top 20 team with multiple guys that handle the ball.It was the last game haha. He should have passed to Boswell who was way ahead but passed to Merk at the end.
Merk did make a nice euro step layup in a tight space though
I don’t know if this was mentioned elsewhere but I didn’t see Ty on the bench at Penn State. Any reason for concern? He’s always traveled with the team in the past.
I also get fascinated with Petrovic and was probably one of the highest people on him on this board. I'm still high on him, just not in this offense/defense scheme at his current size and physical capability. It seems like as soon as he comes in, defenses create a mismatch and attack him, which is hard to do against our team in pretty much any other lineup besides one with Petro. The fascination with petro is incredible on this board for a top 20 team with multiple guys that handle the ball.
I hope we cover because this will be my first game at SFC but the Penn St post game thread was .... entertaining.I hope we cover just for the sake of the board
