I think we win, & I wouldn't touch this game with real money, but with someone else's money I take Rutgers to cover the 14.5 point spread. Sure there top scorer is out, but we make new & great offensive players on every team we meet. Sure they can't stop anyone inside, but we don't have anyone inside to stop. Yes Rutgers is equivalent to Sister Mary's of the poor, I just don't think we are 14.5 points better than Sister Mary's right now.
We just need to win.
You need to lay off the koolaid or pass me some. We just aren't good enough at this point to steal both of those games, thinking we could steal one at this point will likely take some more koolaid.
But let's just start with a good old fashioned win against Rutgers, if we get a beatdown win all the better.
I only said we could be competitive. If you're competitive and it's still close late in the game anything could happen. Both of those teams have shown they are beatable, Wisc more so than IU. I never said I thought we would win.
I also went on record, along with many others, saying we had no chance against Purdue last month. Anything can happen in cbb.
"we could definitely be competitive and maybe steal 1 or both"
in fairness there was a maybe in there, stealing both is like lightning striking twice, it could happen, but if it is good it won't happen to us, not this year.
But I admire the optimism, I just don't have that much left!
Sanders being out sets this up for being the beat down this team needs. They really need a convincing win to get their confidence back for the final stretch of games. After this game there are 2 more what I would consider to be "winnable" games against Minny at home and PSU away, and 3 tough games in IU at home and Wisc and Maryland on the road. The Maryland game is the only one I consider unwinnable, but the other 2 we could definitely be competitive and maybe steal 1 or both. Need to get that ball rolling tomorrow night.
