We've played them twice, both at home. Lost in 1909 and won in 1913.Hard to believe we've never played Kentucky. Border state and all.
Oops, Dan beat me.

I think they are way better than Miss. St. was, and we're worse (love our team, but let's be realistic).I think South Carolina is better than Miss St from a couple years ago. This will be a tough game regardless of who plays for either side
To quote our favorite basketball coach, this defense is truly "ELITE". Going to be a problem for Luke, I worry. I've watched a lot of both of these teams.Wow... 11.5 sacks, 15.5 TFLs for Kennard. He and Dylan Stewart quite the tandem.
It's so weird seeing people type "Lets go Cocks". That's something you'd expect on a completely different site

I don't think the comparison between the two is so obvious. Of course when you take the significant opt outs from two years ago definitely doesn't necessarily hold.I think they are way better than Miss. St. was, and we're worse (love our team, but let's be realistic).
What about the Rose Bowl in 07? Did you watch that game? If so...could you do us a favor and not watch this one?Fun fact: I watched "Not another Teen Movie" in the movie theater the same year we played LSU in the Sugar Bowl. I watched the first half of the game at home, as I was a high school Senior at the time. My girlfriend wanted to see the movie so I agreed, especially since we were getting blown out in the first half and I was tired of yelling at my TV. Unfortunately, I missed an incredible second half of the football game. Since then, I make it a point never to leave a game early, regardless of the score, because the comebacks can be so exciting.
Score by Quarters 1 2 3 4 Score Illinois 0 7 14 13 34 LSU 7 27 7 6 47
1967 season We lost to Florida in Gainesville 14-0Hard to believe we've never played Kentucky. Border state and all.
Those cowbells haunted my dreams for weeks!I think South Carolina is better than Miss St from a couple years ago. This will be a tough game regardless of who plays for either side
Maybe a more devastating fact is that Illinois has only ever played SEC teams 6 times.Fun fact- Illinois Football is 0-6 all time vs the SEC
at Florida 1967 L 0-14
Mississippi St 1980 L 12-28
Alabama 1982 L 15-21 (Liberty Bowl)
Florida 1988 L 10-14 (All-American Bowl)
LSU 2001 L 34-47 (2002 Sugar Bowl)
Mississippi St 2022 L 10-19 (ReliaQuest Bowl)
someone on their board said we got thumped by 3 of the 4 ranked teams we played. we played 5 ranked teams not 4 and lost to the best 2 of thoseSouth Carolina fans sound a lot like Illinois fans.

Can you really blame them?ALABAMA WAS SCARED OF PLAYING ILLINOIS
Man I would hate to live my life this way. Time for Zakhari and the youngins to step up. LET’S GO!!!!No Bryant = no win. But I'm ecstatic we are in this game. I hope we can just compete.
You know the move. Release the Cocks you’ve been holding on to and accept the Illini as your one and only true rooting interest.I'm an avid fan of both teams. Knew this day would come one day, lol. It's funny to see the cultures of the two fan bases finally clash directly.
On the surface, I'd be lying if I said that I saw the Illini being up to the challenge here, but it might depend on opt-outs to a certain degree. Also, the Gamecocks' OC recently accepted the head coaching job at App State, so that could make things interesting.
Interesting feeling to know that I'll be pleased and disappointed, regardless of the game's outcome, but I think a victory might mean a bit more to the Illini, so I'm hoping they come out strong and show me something I haven't seen out of them yet.
I-L-L!
I mean SC is favored by 10.5 and we will be missing our best playerMan I would hate to live my life this way. Time for Zakhari and the youngins to step up. LET’S GO!!!!

No Bryant is the least of our worries. They have real speed on offense. Think Oregon. I hope we can make a game of itNo Bryant = no win. But I'm ecstatic we are in this game. I hope we can just compete.
