Now that’s the helmet for the Illinois script! Don’t like the orange helmet with the script Illinois as much as I like this one. Keep this as an alternate helmet. Now let’s work on a white helmet!

This script is also bigger on the blue helmets than on the orange helmets, but if they make the script on the orange helmets bigger it will look way better.

That said, for the orange helmets blue script with a white outline light look better.

What I like about this matchup:

1. The defense. While our defense has been bad this year, so bad that half the fan base wants our defensive coordinator fired, their defense was worse. And their defensive coordinator was fired.

2. They’re limping into this game. While we finished the season with a win in the snow bowl against our in-state rival, they finished their season with a blowout loss to theirs. They lost by 21 points and gave up 200 more yards at home to Vanderbilt and it would’ve been worse had they not been +2 in turnovers.

3. They don’t want to be here. They were playing in the CFP this time last year. Now they’re playing in the hometown music city bowl, a bowl they’ve played in 3 times already, after an incredibly disappointing 8-4 season. Their fans don’t want to attend and I can’t imagine their players are all that excited either. Which might be part of the reason they’ve has almost double the number of opt outs as Illinois.

Bowl games are half talent/skill and half “who wants it more?”. Gotta think that favors Illinois.

Wonder what Tennessee team will show up? Will there be an injury report released before game time? Will any of their players opt out in the second half like South Carolina star safety Nick Emmanwori did in last year's Citrus Bowl?

Wow, its been a great ride watching Luke grow up before our eyes.
Hes a special young man. We were blessed he came, and he will be missed.
Im not really ready to talk about what next year's team looks like, because im bummed Luke won't be leading the team out of the tunnel.
The memories are real as I watch that heart tugging video.
