Good thing we are 2-1 against the SEC
couldn’t ask for a better draw really. Good, not great P5 opponent to start. Kentucky very good but doesn’t scare me. And we played a pretty big stinker against Tennessee and barely lost.
Wanted to avoid physical tough teams that force alot of turnovers. Tennessee does fit that bill but as I’ve said, we know we can play with them.

Having Texas/Xavier having to play in Dayton while we're getting some extra rest has to be a huge benefit for us, right?
Best draw we could've gotten outside of playing Iowa St again. I think the Illini match up well with Texas and think they'd be okay with Xavier(need to watch a game or two of theirs as I haven't seen them since non-conference). Kentucky game will be a great matchup b/c Kentucky plays no defense and are not super physical. A very good draw and to be in Milwaukee, there will definitely be a homecourt advantage there. Good that we avoided the west bracket. Drake and Texas Tech as a 3 seed would've been a worse matchup compared to playing Kentucky
It is imperative we get off to a good start. Historically and like NC St.l ast year and other power teams after play in games are calm and ready to go with a game under thier belt.

Can't complain about the draw. Somehow I feel more concerned about Xavier than I do Kentucky. And while Tennessee is a very good team, we obviously showed we can play with them. Let's show up and win our first game!

Selfishly had hoped we'd be playing in Denver so I could go see us play, but I'm quite happy with our draw.

There was no scenario in which that wouldn’t be the case.
Good draw for Illini. Not bad.
Sheer speculation on my part. Texas had to play in the SEC, and for most intents and purposes should be more battle tested. I will take Xavier as my preferred opponent. Both teams in my opinion will beat us if Illinois does not show up. This is not a phone in game.
