Payback tour continues in Indy. Let’s knock out UConn then either Michigan or Az. Rather play Michigan to complete the payback. But first thing first, slow UConn down, do not give them open looks. Lock down Mullins and run him off the line and body up Reed and make his points hard to get. 76-68 Illini!!!!!!

I don't post a lot but follow Illinois Loyalty faithfully and appreciate it immensely. The posters here are always knowledgeable, funny, and sometimes cantankerous. Kudos to Dan for making this all happen here. We are experiencing a momentous event for Illinois basketball and Illinois Loyalty has made the trip getting here all the better.
Now that this is out of the way, I want to touch on how important this Final Four is to Illinois Basketball. I was here for both the previous Final Fours in '89 and '05. I was here for the ups and downs, including all the way back to the slush fund scandal of the 60s. It sometimes seems like it is always one step forward and two steps back with this program. I believe that this time around is different. Win or lose, the Illini will not be denied. We have the right coach and the right AD to take Illinois Basketball to the next level. I hope to see a National Championship in the coming days. If I don't, I know that it will not be another 21 years before Illinois sees another Final Four. I sincerely doubt I would live another 21 years to see it if it were the case. I have enough faith in the direction of the program to believe that I will see a National Championship in my lifetime. If not now, I expect to see Underwood and the team right back at the chase as contenders next year and each year after. Illinois is already among the upper echelons of college basketball. A National Championship is the elusive grail that takes Illinois to the next level.
