Illinois staging a hostile takeover of Indianapolis right now

By reading the posts, sounds like we're still celebrating making the Final Four. It's been 6 days and 16 hours since we beat Iowa. There's time for celebrating the season(however it ends up) on Sunday or Tuesday.

Not seeing enough Illinois vs UCONN thoughts on how we can win this game. Hoping the players have turned the page because if they didn't, they'll be run out of the stadium. This is a major hurdle playing UCONN. They have the "been there, done that" experience going for them.

Getting off to a great start and not having a wide eyed 7 day hangover is critical. In 5 hours, the ref blaming during the game thread will begin.

Hard fought, low scoring game. 67-63 Illinois.

Rebound. Take care of the ball. Attack the paint. Don't let them get hot from 3. Would love to get Reed in foul trouble, but that's the easy route, and we can't bank on it. If he's in, he's gonna get his, but limit his second chance opportunities. Other than that, play our game. We're the better team. We've been the better team since we lost to them back in November. It's time to get some revenge.

Illinois needs to exert its will and run the game plan. Can't get sped up and put in a chase mode. Come out strong, hit a fair amount of 3s, and pound the glass. Need to find the hot hand and feed it. There are so many weapons on this team and they need to find how to exploit this advantage. Pass for the great shot and be ready to take it. Limiting turnovers, maximize and hit free throws, and being able to shut down UConn runs are important. Defense needs to shut down a couple of their best players. Karaban can not be allowed to go off. Need to make it hard for Reed to get his. The front court will be a battle and needs to at least be played to a draw. Hopefully we can get a free throw advantage here. I really think the game will be won in the back court. Let it be another stellar game for Wagler and it is no contest.

Wow how daring of them! Not a single UConn or Illinois champion pick.
Didn’t bother clicking on the link. Don’t care what they think.

This is my concern. The last two games, the offense was pretty bad to start the game. Houston's was absolutely awful, so it didn't hurt us. Against Iowa, we found ourselves in a 10 point hole in the blink of an eye. I think the 2 points(down 12-2) were the only points we had at the first media timeout. That absolutely cannot happen. When we fall behind in games, that's when our shot selection and decision making gets questionable. We had some games like that playing the bottom half of the Big Ten and were just better than the likes of Oregon, Maryland, etc. That absolutely cannot happen here. Can't fall behind and be chasing all game. They're too disciplined.

I’ll keep saying it again because it’s working.

If we get just Average Mirk, Wagler, BAM, Z, Davis and Ben….but Tournament Tomi and Andrej….this is a W.🧡👊🏻

Anything above average from the first group is gravy, probably 10 pt + win.

If we don’t get Tournament Tomi and Andrej….tossup.
