Not sure that is a price point that will sell very well. Upper sideline tickets sold for $100 season tickets. November is such a crap shoots on weather. Only way those will sell well at that price point is if the Illini are in CFP contention in mid to late October, IMO. When it comes to actual butt in seat attendance, the performance of the team will dictate that.
November weather plays a role too.

Exactly why I said November weather is a crap shoot. If the team is really good, there will be many who will fight the elements. If the team is just average and out of CFP contention, even with perfect weather, there will be very low attendance for the NW game especially (Thanksgiving weekend game that always struggles for attendance).

I never thought I'd be thanking Xfinity/Comcast, but I was rewarded (after 13 years) with free access to Peacock. That means I can watch Illini-WIU Friday!

Xfinity also replaced my aged remote control with a new one; batteries included - Duracells, the best!

Life can be real swell now and then. Hang in there.

55 ILL
17 WIU

We win big. But we don't cover the 46.5. I'm riding the offense in this one, so take the over (I'm seeing total points scored at 61.5).

So I asked my daughter, who is an orthopedic surgeon for an NFL team, what can be done about Davis' plantar faciitis. She said there is some shock wave therapy that helps. There is surgery of course, but she said it is a big deal and very painful. She said it's basically a result of someone being too big/heavy.

agree on weight being a main issue
I was guilty of that
simple solution for me was arch support inserts in my shoes . those $30 Walk Fit ones helped tremendously . But while I’m sure Davis , by now has custom made ones for his shoes & cleats, it takes time for the foot pain to go away. the shock wave therapy stimulates healing process

He should be fine for the important games & Im expecting him to get some reps in the opener .

Updated Memorial Stadium Sellout Watch, five days out:

For comparison to Week 1 last season, the ticket tracker was sitting at 42,294 six days out from the start of the season. We're nearly 13,000 higher at roughly the same point in time. What a difference a year makes.

I had shockwave therapy on a slightly torn Achilles tendon. Very effective.

I've seen a sprinkling of comments saying variations of "Indiana absolutely pasted this WIU team last year 77-3 and Illinois will do the same", just wanted to reply with a couple things:

(1) Yes, this Illinois team is talented enough that it could (in optimal play) probably beat an FCS team that badly. Heck, it could even do it to WIU this week!
(2) Indiana was absolutely sending a message last season. They didn't know they had a playoff team that week but wanted to change the national narrative.
(3) Illinois has playoff aspirations right now (in optimal play) and they don't need to change the national narrative. Therefore their motivation and strategic choices will likely be different.
(4) People predicting Illinois to not cover the spread are likely not making a big statement about how they view the 2025 Illinois football team related to 2024 Indiana.

There’s just no rational reason to risk injuries to run up the score.

This sort of game has to be tough for the odds makers because the outcome determined by the teams’ relative strengths. We get to decide how much to score and be scored upon.

I see Illinois jumping out to a 35-3 lead at halftime and winning 45-6, thus not covering the spread. This is based solely on Bret Bielema’s penchant to run the ball when his team has a big lead, quickening the game and not wishing to run up the score.

Attended a game in Camp Randall Stadium 11/13/2010

Wisconsin vs. Indiana

Bucky won 83-20. 338 rushing yards yielding 6 td

The final points scored in the game were by Wisconsin. Rushing td at 1:57 remaining.

Aaron Henry had a pick six that game.

Quite a show.

Yeah, Cignetti's a different kind of guy with completely different motivation in last year's opener. We're coming off a 10-win season and don't have anything to prove by putting up some massive number. Let's see the starters control the game on both sides of the ball, get an insurmountable lead in the first half, and then go vanilla and see what the back of the roster can do.
