I like the way our KO returner runs too.
Is he 100% a WR? Or could he be a RB once in a while? probably can't block

We could really use a RB with speed to go with the 2 freshmen, hopefully Reggie can come back soon, if not against Wisky.

And Lunney USE THE TIGHT ENDS MORE PLEASE!
Lunney Jr just needs to throw some wrinkles into planning for the offense. Doesn't have to be high risk but keep the D off balanced with formations/sets.

During middle of a drive put Altmyer out wide, have IW and Feagin interchangeable in the backfield together. Both have played QB and is more about keeping the D unbalanced. We have depth at WR to change it up a bit. RB Laughery in open space has been good for around 10 yards a catch. Maybe line him up in different spots instead of just a check down. I think we have some talent/speed on offense that isn't being utilized.

This one is a tough one to predict for me. Wisconsin is not that good of a team and being forced to play their backup QB should hurt them as well. Meanwhile, we're coming off our best game of the season by far, where our LB group finally showed up and our OL actually held up for the most part and created push when run blocking for the first time this season. If we play like how we did against Maryland, have a big game from our LBs again, given Luke protection, and bruise them running the ball, I think we win this one. If we slip back to how we played the first 6 games of the season, we'll lose in frustrating fashion. So the question is who are we and what team is going to show up? My head and gut say we have a setback and Wisconsin takes this driving me back to depression, but those two body parts haven't done a damn thing for me so eff 'em, I'm going with the heart.

Illinois: 27
Wisconsin: 24

Give us a shot at the B10 West Championship, guys.

This Season:
5-2 ML (couldn't be happier not to be 6-1 this week)
4-3 ATS (also couldn't be happier not to be 5-2 this week and glad I didn't put down a 4 or 5 figure bet on MD)

Our best chance to win is vintage BB smashmouth football. Run the ball effectively, get 4-5 yard gain on first down and it will open up the passing game. Keep pounding the ball until they prove they can stop us. I want to see Kaden with at least 25 carries!

Iowa won 15-6 last week with 200 yards on the ground and 37 yards passing. Our defense may not be as good as Iowa this year but our offense should be better.

Iowa won in spite of their offense. They didn’t win because they had 200 yards rushing and 37, yards passing

Much of these stats are deceptive at best. 82 of those yards came on the lone touchdown play in the 2nd quarter. Take out that one run and Iowa only averaged 2.5 yards per rush. The real reason that Iowa won is in the area you didn't paste...turnovers. Wisconsin had 2 late turnovers and gave up a safety. Wisconsin stalling out on offense and settling for two field goals early in the 3rd quarter, and then the string of 3 and outs and 2 turnovers is why Wisconsin lost...not because Iowa ran the ball well. In fact, Iowa looked quite incompetent offensively.

Even worse, 82 of Iowa’s rushing yards came from a single play. They averaged 2.5 yards from their other 47 rushing attempts, a truly impotent ground game.

Sweet! Mine, a bit more modest...
Sansui 350a receiver with (smaller) Advent bookshelf speakers. Purchased at Diener (sp) Stereo on w. Springfield.
Also had a cassette deck with an external track mechanism to flip the cassette to the other side..cassette actually left the deck and ran up this track where it was flipped over before returning to the capsule. Never worked that flawlessly though.
K..we probably need a separate thread for this..
1972 Germany PX purchase while on European tour with uncle Sam.

Lenco turntable Swiss made very heavy
Marrantz 2215 receiver
TEAC A 1250-s reel to reel (still have it!)
Marrantz equalizer
BOSE 501 speakers for bass
Cerwin Vega speakers for mid and upper

I remember had to make adapter because 501s were 4 ohm impedance
And Cerwins were 8

Total cost : 760.00
Stateside would have been 1500 and up.

Many spent more on their audio equipment than on their education. Hard to do that today! Sir.

Final Sellout Watch update for Wisconsin. The ticket tracker shows an estimate of 49,602 tickets sold. Needing to correct for some of the conservative assumptions baked into the tracking methodology, along with nice October weather and an afternoon game (allowing for some walkup sales), I'm adding 2,500 to the tracker for my official attendance guess: 52,102.

Yep, purchasing stereo equipment and cameras overseas at the BX/PX in the 70's was a MAJOR benefit for young troops, although many would then stay in their barracks and never get out to experience everything the host country had to offer.

I still have my reel-to-reel, equalizer, and cassette deck also 😎.

I can honestly say I can see either team winning by a couple of scores and everything in between. I hope homecoming and a good home crowd make the difference.

31-17, good guys.

Entire team shows it's improving through the season and last week wasn't a fluke and the team wakes up to it's potential.

Defense continues to build on good performances and are buoyed by better TOP from the offense helping to keep their legs fresh

Offense line continues to gel. Run game stays Feagin centric and smaller backs are not continually run up the gut, instead more outside, runs.

TEs are targeted at least 6 times total.

Did I miss anything?

Oh yeah, I Will scores a TD and throws for another.

Call this an aspirational take 😀

The stadium used to make a LOT of noise on big 3rd downs with the war chant and arms clapping overhead. But that was offensive. Now we have nothing.
No. That was not loud at all, and it looked ridiculous. Just because some people don’t like that we took the chief away, let’s not pretend that our third down chant was “loud” in any shape or form.

Well, my friends, that guy Steve who makes picks on ESPN Gameday picked Illinois and he is garbage. They showed his record picking games and he is like 11-19. Hopefully this is the week he goes on a run and we win going away.
