Yes, I have long been amused that Indiana, the bluest of blue bloods, the flagship basketball school of the B10, basketball royalty, the best of the best according to their fans have never won a BTT championship in the entire 26 year history of the event, putting them alongside perennial B10 powerhouses Minnesota and Penn State. Except that's not even true because it would require Indiana to win a lot more games to be on the level of either of those teams. Only Northwestern has been worse of the B10 teams that have been in the conference since 1997.

If you'll pardon the expression, I expect a dogfight. Now we get to see what kind. For those who know, there is exactly one breed that never backs down in a dog fight. All others will roll onto their back, expose their stomach, and submit. I think the latter case is far more likely than the former. And I'm not in a position to tell you which team will play which role.
Also, as a reminder, these aren't dogs. They're humans. And we are playing for the freaking championship. Isn't anybody surprised? At least by our opponent? I want the best team to win. And I want us to be best team. Cue Mick Jagger singing about how that may not work out. Still...we made it to the championship!

Dain has a game like against osu , TSJ continues his hot streak and Cohawk awakens to a double double , with 4 steals and 4 blocked shots.......
Could it be that we here at loyalty are so absorbed with the beloved that we really really don't realize how FRIGGIN GREAT we are............who cares when the worm turns as long as it turns.......the Illini are capable of scoring droughts for sure , but we are also very capable of vaporizing our opponents with a beatdown of epic proportions.......The thing I am most happy about is our penchant for second half explosions of electric offense and somewhat smothering defense.............
I am getting ready to get medded up big time and watch the Illini wax poetic over the wistful wisky victims........
Let's get the first of the two rings left available in the post season right now......then charge into the dance with a bucket full of confidence and heart.....

After watching some of the results this week, it really is amazing that Illinois has been in every single game this year.
They've never had a game like Kansas has had twice in the last seven days. They have never been boat-raced like Houston was by Iowa State last night. They have had a chance to win every single game this season. Sure, they've let a few maddeningly slip away. For me, the games that stick out are the Marquette game, the Penn State game, and the Northwestern game. The Maryland game was really the only game I look at and say we laid an egg, and even that game was within screaming distance.
I know there have been some complaints about things like the defense this season. I've been one of those. But it's really been remarkable to see how this team so far has not even been in a game where you could look at it and say they were never in the game.
(I really hope I haven't jinxed anything for today!!)
