Lunnys play calling was terrible. If I see another delay handoff up the gut with this terrible interior OL I'm going to throw my shoe at him

Good season.

7-5

We need two more years to get into the right gear. This year was a great opportunity to sneak into the B10 tourney. That surprise is gone. And, it is not going to come back.

Posts like this after a tough loss are unnecessary. Is the "magical run" over, yes, but there is still a lot to play for. This team will come back fired up, and I can't see the team laying an egg in Evanston. This is not a Zook coached team.

At the end of the game when we were waiting for the elevator, the band started playing the Alma Mater one last time. That bush league band heard what the aMarching Illini were doing and started playing (presumably) their fight song over it. I’ve been around marching bands for a long time and I’ve never experienced even on a high school level their kind of rude.

I wouldn’t invite them back and I wouldn’t accept an invitation from them.
It was absurd... I think everyone in the south end zone deserves to hear the game. They're playing compounded my anger...lol

First off hope Chase is ok. Just crushing if he goes down like that.

And Barry Lunney is flat out awful. His offense owned home in back to back weeks by Michigan state and Purdue. Don’t care what the conditions are. Extending him was a joke.

Lastly watching this team unravel with ridiculous personal fouls was something. No leadership anywhere.
Where is this wide open offense that avg. 40pts. per game at UTSA now goes to a 3 yrds. and cloud of dust predictable offense. Players need to be held accountable for completely stupid penalties, what's their mentality. Had a chance this year to have something good, but next year with a younger team, Good Luck B.B. and your staff!!

Extremely disappointed with everyone associated with Illinois Football today.

Monumental, program altering let down. Other than post-Michigan game 2000, I can’t remember a more disappointing season in the history of this team.

Starting with Whitman, who is and will be the greatest AD in school history. Disappointed in how he props up his OC and DC after not even seeing a full season from the OC. Needs to be more Jim Crane and less Ron Guenther.

Bret Bielema: Poorly motivated program. Even more poorly disciplined team.

Ryan Walters. More time buying his own hype and listening to the back slappers.

Barry Looney Jr: Continued lack of creativity. Add another year to the extension after this game. Who says no?

Players: Will never criticize college kids so passing any judgement or criticism of our players. I’ll leave that to the Jared Gelfond/anonymous message board/Rob Rosenthal types.

Brian Barnhardt: Not getting it done on the radio any longer.

Gene Honda: Missing spots and calls left and right

Fans: Showing up late and leaving early all season. Deserve what the bowl committee has lined up.

Parking lot attendants: Not organized

Illinettes: No coordination , dated routines

Band and Barry Houser: Same ol song and dance since 1999.

Illinois Marketing Executive: How can the stadium be so quiet during the game? Why does it look as packed as 2015 vs Middle Tennessee St?

That does not get decided today. That gets decided tomorrow, next week, next month, next year.

Yes you do.

It's hard to take because there's just no plausible explanation for the totally different team this has turned into. And it's pretty easy to see the team this has turned into continuing along a pathway we don't want to go down.

I turned the game off when PU kicked the FG to make it 31-21. Didn‘t see the injury to Chase B. I really hope he’s okay. It would just be awful for him to go down with the game unwinnable.

Let's leave the Illinettes out of this. They're the only ones that made me happy today.

There was also a crucial PI called against them on a drive that led to us scoring a touchdown, but let's not let that get in the way of a good old fashioned conspiracy.
The one where Bryant was tied up on the east sideline with the defender? That was significantly more egregious and could at least be argued as interference.

To be fair, that PI had to be called. It was a shove down that resulted in an easy pick, not hand fighting like we saw the other way (multiple times).

Put simply, these officials should never be allowed to officiate even high school level ball (especially in TX).
