I never would have thought so, and it was Purdue, but on that sample it actually seems like Crouch lets them do what McGee wants them to do and therefore gives them a better chance. For me at least, it's a genuine QB controversy. Helps that I couldn't have imagined he'd throw the ball that well and that intelligently.

That settles it. If there was any lingering doubt, this season is a wash.

Note: Previous post was made prior to the missed FG. Nobody can give them a chance.

Ugh. We've got MUCH farther to go than anyone thought.

Why didn't we run a play to set the ball in the middle for chase's game winning field goal?

Just have to remind myself that this is what Year 5 of Beckman would be. Thank god we at least have hope.

This loss hurts, we are making knucklehead mistakes like we did during the Zook years. It's hard to think we took it to this team 48-14 last year

This is a painful end to a long, difficult day. As some people said this past week, we should have beaten Purdue easily. But every other Big Ten team thinks they can beat us. And they do.

Won't win another game all year and we'll be lucky to win one next year.

Flat out awful performance by players and coaches. Luckily Crouch came in to give us some semblance of an offense. I'm sick of hearing how great our D-line is. Our whole defense is terrible.

So undisciplined. Awful.

Expected more discipline from a lovie team.

Also, we have a long way to go. Its going to take years of recruiting. I think we'll see better facilities long before we see a better football team.

The stadium didn't look too emtpy today, which was nice

They are undisciplined, it would be one thing if they lost but played a sound game but we are making mistakes like we are a JFL team.

They talk about SRs making player control fouls and mistakes. I think it is the culture of the program that will not change until you have Lovie and staff totally put their stamp on this program.

This team plays so hard, it sucks to see them lose back to back heartbreakers. If they can keep competing like this I really hope they can pull off an upset later in the year. And I think it's doable if they cut down on the mental errors.

One of the worst endings I can remember.

Missed field goal (ball hits the upright) by a "perfect" kicker, and then a fumble by a QB who played with a lot of heart and advanced the ball in critical points in the game with his running plays.

Feel bad for Crouch on this one.

Undisciplined behavior overall and undisciplined positioning on defense. Coaches asked players to step up but coaches need to coach. Nickerson's defense has me missing Tim Banks! ;)

Don't get flagged after a touchdown for throwing the ball in the air. All of these dumb penalties add up to us beating ourselves. Appreciate his effort but I don't feel bad for him. Play smart. Fumbles are one thing, stupid penalties are another.
