what questions did they ask him?
I don't really remember.....I was trying to type his answers and it was only about a minute total time.....generic questions at best based on what answers i typed down.........sorry , my mind isn't the steeltrap as it used to be.....it really really isn't........

I won't lie to you fellow Illini, my expectations needle for the remainder of this season is pegged in the red area. Looks like my two best choices going forward are between a frontal lobotomy or a bottle in front of me.
choose the bottle and invite me over

We just lost out on the Pinstripe Bowl.

Henry and Lunney needs to go. Hire Leonhard as defensive coordinator and an offensive coordinator that has some creativity.
Do you think Henry is working the the shadow of a lurking Leonhard in the wings? no opinion just asking. The offense is NOT good the think Altmeyer is a good but not great quarterback but he can't throw from under the pile of defensive line people.

THAT is THE definition of "rebuild".

I suspect we need a new O-coord.

We may allow the experiment of D-coord to continue for another year.

I am taking bets that Luke transfers
Luke transfers he sits a year. I don’t think he will. I don’t think he can predict a starting position a year down the road

I will settle for an offensive coordinator who has an offense.
I think Lunney needs to put Luke in better positions, but I've just never seen multiple o-linemen not only flat out unable to win a 1 on 1 battle, but incapable of even getting a hand on the guy they're blocking. It's like we have a team of offensive linemen who have never blocked before. I'm not a Lunney fan, but I'm not sure I even know what he can do at this point. When an 8 man front allows players to just run through the middle unblocked and your qb and rb have a defensive player 2yds in the backfield before you complete a handoff or take a 1 step drop, there's not much you can do.

I like Bret, but this is on him- he had to recruit multiple better players for the O-line or bring in transfers. Absolutely cannot field a line this bad

We seem so slow, no lateral movement Could our strength and conditioning be an issue?

Exactly one month ago, I was dreaming of a robust fall sports season:
- Cubs with a 91% chance of making the NL playoffs (and 1 game behind the Brewers)
- Illinois football with 20-25% shot of winning the Big Ten West
- Bears with hopes of finishing 10-7, and with an outside chance of winning the NFC North

I'm essentially down to this..........

The Last Best Place
I try to be reasonable and optimistic regarding Illini sports , but this game and the pitiful stats of this game has my glass half full leaking big time........

Henry is appearing to NOT be the answer as far as being a competent DC...................
Lunney is appearing to NOT be the answer as far as being a competent OC...........
Our offensive line coach is appearing to NOT be the answer as far as being a competent OLINE coach.........
Ditto for the secondary coach......................
The Special teams coach has been average to above average so far this year................

We give up too many sacks..........
We give up too many tackles for loss.............
We leave way too many opponents receivers wide open................
We take way to many penalties...................
We do NOT convert enough 3rd down plays .....................
We drop way too many passes.....................
We drop way too many passes that could have been TD's.......................

It IS going to be a LONGGGGGGGGG season based on this game and the way the OLINE is performing........I will watch all the games NOT on Peacock , but my enthusiasm going into the rest of the seasons games will be less than optimistic......

Face it , it's back to our history of one good season every 6-8 years.........

We have no consistency as far as winning for more than one unique season.........

I am hoping for better results this year in BB , but I'm not going overboard in my expectations.........Underperforming results take a bigger toll on my optimism than earlier in my life.................

Take care , my friends.........I'm just flushing this game out of my system and I'm glad my Doctor gave me a new script for a med that helps with times like this.........

Other than that though what do you think

Nebby is about as bad as us.
Indinia is about as bad as us.
Kitties are about as bad as us.

So if by some chance we play well enough in those 3 games looking like 5-7 is our ceiling. I was really hoping for 6-6 or better and a second straight bowl just to get some program momentum.
