Could it be that he is a 59% free throw shooter? Also Rodgers is only 64%. Possible reason you don't see him as much at the end of games.Still trying to figure out Quincy ,who was 3-4 from 3, not on floor end of game

I kept thinking Beetle Bailey. Then I realized that wasn’t quite right. good work.

Now, I will forever refer to Loyer as Tintin.
Who said that first? In an infamous taped rant. Was it Bobby Knight? I can't remember. In retrospect, I’m not all that upset about this loss. I am, however, sick of losing to f’ing Purdue.
Most obvious portion is a few frames later when Coleman's head is shoved into his left arm.The foul is to the head, not the hand. You can touch the parts of the hand that are touching the ball. If you continue to swipe through and hit additional parts of the hand not touching the ball, they'll rarely call that a foul.

Oh big time. That Casey Bartlet dude is a GIANT loser. Outrageous combination of smug, homely, fat but not large - just sloppy.Hack, homer journalism. lol.
I’m sure that’s what we sound like about half the time…but geez…the Purdue fandom seems particularly precious.
I like Paint; and Purdue is damn good. But that Loyer-guy looks like a poorly drawn cartoon character.
Yep, it was Bob Knight. His language was much more colorful though, lol.Who said that first? In an infamous taped rant. Was it Bobby Knight? I can't remember.
Goode is at 61% so….Could it be that he is a 59% free throw shooter? Also Rodgers is only 64%. Possible reason you don't see him as much at the end of games.
Yes.Is that Paris, Illinois's own Brett Eldredge sitting with him?
Loyer looks like a ventriloquist dollHack, homer journalism. lol.

Here was Brad's explanation:Really tired of asking what the hell is Brad thinking. Once again I’m bewildered as to where Roger’s is in the second half especially the last 5 minutes. Does anyone really think a freshman center getting 4 fouls in 3 minutes and chucking up a 3 from the corner a better fit than Dainja maybe doing work underneath and drawing a 4th foul on Edey? Harmon played 21 minutes with zero points. Rogers 18 minutes with 8 points. All in the first half. No in game adjustments. Totally out coached the second half. Shannon nonexistent the second half. There’s no program I hate worse than Iowa. Not feeling very good about Saturday.
Yeah, it's hard to see from any still frame. This shows it better:Most obvious portion is a few frames later when Coleman's head is shoved into his left arm.
^^^ THIS ^^^Purdue has a unique situation where they don't need to send anyone for offensive rebs since they have Edey down there, which allows them to get back on defense on every single play. Not only does this completely 86 any transition/fast break opportunities, it also allows them to completely control pace and keep Edey from being ran up and down the court by the opponent.
I wish we could see sooner when it isn't Harmon's night and not play him as much those. I agree he's been a difference-maker in many wins but also as hot and cold as anyone on the roster. I would have loved to see Ty Rodgers try to grab a couple of those key defensive rebounds Harmon couldn't come up with last night.Team is still undefeated when Harmon scores 10 or more. An engaged Harmon makes a huge difference providing grit and secondary scoring. When he is off though he is way off and last night was one of those.
I know he’s massive and that’s a (no pun intended) huge part of it, but Edey is so freaking amazing at doing the little things rebounding too.^^^ THIS ^^^
I was saying the same thing (not as well) during the game.
Another poster said that's not good basketball, it's just having the tallest player. Okay but so what - Painter uses Edey perfectly, cheat code or not.I know he’s massive and that’s a (no pun intended) huge part of it, but Edey is so freaking amazing at doing the little things rebounding too.
He taps it back when he can’t corral it, has excellent placement, and forces other teams into difficult rebounds. I try to allow myself to watch other teams without bias as much as possible and I really love what Purdue does overall, which is mostly Edey.
I think a lot of the saltiness here has to do with the fact that we're watching him not be officiated the same way Kofi was. If it seemed to be more equitable that way, I think you'd have a lot more posters on here agreeing with you myself includedI really think too many people are salty about Edey being tall to appreciate him as a player. Very rarely do you see him make mistakes, bad plays, or be out of position. Not only is he big but he puts himself in position to use his size to its full advantage. Also that turnaround hook shot is really effective and that's a shot that takes skill. There are other guys that have played college ball at his size and weren't able to do the things that he does.
Another missed obvious foul. I had forgotten about that one.Yeah it's such BS - that's not being good at basketball. That's having the league MTP (most tallest player) on your team.
Also, this is how the fateful 7-0 run started. 10 feet away from the ref staring straight at it:View attachment 31876
My question is why we bothered to guard Heide for 13 minutesGuys, complain all you want about the decision to double Edey out of halftime, but we were winning by 2 with 3:25 and then:
Loyer made a 3
Harmon missed an open 3
Loyer made a jumper
Shannon missed a layup
Smith missed a jumper, but they got the board, Loyer was fouled and made 2 FT
That’s a 7-0 run in 2 mins. Ball game.
Purdue made plays at the end. Illinois’ veteran players didn’t.
I’ll put it this way. Edey isn’t good simply because he’s tall. He’s actually just good. But PURDUE is (very) good because Edey is tall. They get so many second-chance points that feel undeserved, frankly. If Edey were 6’11”, with the exact same offensive output, Purdue is in the top 15-20 range.Another poster said that's not good basketball, it's just having the tallest player. Okay but so what - Painter uses Edey perfectly, cheat code or not.
All I know is that I saw TSJ get a defensive rebound (or pass from a teammate off a defensive rebound) several times in the game, initiate launch sequence, and look up to see 4 Purdue shirts already set in front of him.
Jusitn has come up big down the stretch in a bunch of close ones. He has been an asset down the stretch in the last half a dozen wins. He deserved to be out there. We can all play Monday Morning QB after we see the long, weird rebounds we didn't get down the stretch. Domask was cooking the last few minutes, we needed to space the floor. Justin got a wide open 3, he just left it short. They made shots, we missed shots.I wish we could see sooner when it isn't Harmon's night and not play him as much those.
