Purdue 84, Illinois 68 Postgame

I think the pivotal momentum shift was the phantom push in the back on Kofi. Purdue dialed in on making him defend at the rim. Too many easy twos followed. We compounded it by a failure to make open looks.

If you were to stack every one of these ball whipping moments through DMFW’s career into one video, how many minutes do you think that would be add up to?
At what point in the game did that happen? Completely missed it

I thought BBV looked good while he was in. Tough D, reboundin. Any reason he didn't get more tick?
I saw the same bro........hustles all the time he is in and is a tough rebounder ......wish he could make more shots in the paint.......as far as more tick , no clue .....

Yeah, more like he just had to work harder for it tonight than usual. It's amazing what not being elbowed in the face can do for your game.
For real, must be easier to shoot when you're only seeing one basket instead of two

I thought BBV looked good while he was in. Tough D, reboundin. And definitely better match with Edey.
Any reason he didn't get more tick?
Not an offensive threat and I'm guessing Edey leaning on him was a little more than tiring. Once we needed buckets, no way was Kofi sitting

I agree. I thought BBV did very well. There was one stretch where Kofi and BBV played at the same time that I really liked.

What was up with the shot clock not resetting on Kofis shot then we got the rebound and Trent had to Jack up a 3- the refs talked to BU about it, even Painter came over and then they did nothing

Shouldn’t the ref just look at the monitor - see the shot clock didn’t reset and give us the ball? How hard is that?

This loss was not on Kofi, he did his Job and outplayed both Eddy and Williams, we just didn't go to him, wierd.
I think that Purdue shut down a lot of the pick and roll in the second half between Curbelo and Kofi. It left Curbelo occasionally feeding him but often dribble driving as the rest of the team stood around and watched on offense. It made our offense freeze up then no one could hit a three when even wide open. Kofi was even being triple teamed some when he touched the ball so folks were open. It was a very weird sequence of events.

Kofi had a decent offensive game with 18 and some good moves down low. He also did ok on defense against Edey 6 for 10 and Williams 2 for 7. We lost because Ivey went off and our shooting went cold.
This sounds weird but I think our shooting went cold because Purdue shut the Curbelo Kofi pick and roll down then Curbello started dribble driving (to some level of success) and the team stood around and watched then we went cold and couldn't hit the broadside of a barn.
