Not if it happens in the forestIs it even an Illini game if Williams doesn't throw a 100 mph heater off some hapless chap while trying to save it from going out?

Indeed it was. A submissive containment. That was the opposite of dominant erupt!
I think they would bc of the one and only, Roger Powell.I’m interested in hearing everyone’s response to this. Does anyone think the 05 Illini team could beat this year’s Purdue team?
I don't think I've laughed so hard watching a basketball game as when that happened. Is it even an Illini game if Williams doesn't throw a 100 mph heater off some hapless chap while trying to save it from going out?
We have that guy doing a visit to Sunday's game. Kylan Boswell 5* originally from C-UI’m confident BU will find those types of players. He seems to know which types of players are NBA caliber.
It seemed to me that in the 2nd half PU did a really.good job of closing off passing lanes to Kofi. This loss was not on Kofi, he did his Job and outplayed both Eddy and Williams, we just didn't go to him, wierd.

Maybe not but 89 would and it wouldn't be close
And then we got the pleasure to enjoy it again (and maybe a few DVR rewinds) in slow motion. It's well document my love for DMFW, but that will be a play I fondly remember forever.I don't think I've laughed so hard watching a basketball game as when that happened.

Yep. In the second half, they effectively shut off our safety valve (Kofi) and we couldn't respond well enough with our outside shooting. We had a ton of good looks, but just couldn't get them to drop. It also seems like Belo still needs more time to get back up to speed.Because the shots weren't dropping
I had to go back and watch that a second time. I love Kofi, and he battled last night and as others have said here it's encouraging that he had a better 2nd game vs. Purdue than his first, but that play was hard to watch. Seemed like Kofi almost just gave up. Just call a timeout at that point. You aren't the first player to be trapped and have no way out of it. Purdue's second half yesterday was a thing of beauty....unless, of course, you are like all of us here as diehard Illini fans. What do y’all think of Kofi’s over-his-head pass attempt when he was trapped at the baseline? Do you think he should take that one out of his arsenal?
Also… Belo has become my favorite for myriad reasons, and he had a good game overall. But he somehow managed to play 21 minutes without an assist. Wonder when’s the last time that happened…
We will be fine. My guess is that we’ll see another new banner or two in the rafters after this season.
Lol got second hand embarrassment for Kofi on that pass. It happens. One of the few silly plays he's made in his entire career. What do y’all think of Kofi’s over-his-head pass attempt when he was trapped at the baseline? Do you think he should take that one out of his arsenal?

I thought Belo played well, especially offensively.Lol got second hand embarrassment for Kofi on that pass. It happens. One of the few silly plays he's made in his entire career.
I'm with you on the Belo love. I posted this elsewhere, but despite having zero assists, I thought he was still doing a decent job of getting guys the ball in a position to score. They just didn't convert. And with their ball screen coverage, the smarter play most of the time was to keep the ball for a layup rather than pass.
I don't know about that.... Unless our shooting improves quite a bit, I can see wins at Rutgers and the Spartan's being very tough to get. The Bucky's at home might be a problem too. Here's to hoping our veteran back court can do their thing and lead us to the promised land!!That sucked. I find Purdue to be just as dislikable as Indiana and Iowa.
However there isn't a harder game left on the schedule in the regular season. Won't be easy, but I could be convinced we win out.
You realize kofi and our starters were in against Wisconsin and Indiana both double digit wins.I have respect for Stefanovich. After Trent went down, he came over to Trent on the bench to make sure that he was ok. I don't have any respect for a coach that knows that the game is decided, sees the losing coach clearing the bench, then doesn't do the same and let's them shoot. Bush league! No excuses for it!
Yes, but Wisconsin and Indiana hadn't emptied their benches and we held the ball and took shot clock violations to turn the ball back over to them with time remainingYou realize kofi and our starters were in against Wisconsin and Indiana both double digit wins.
