Thought it was an unwritten rule that when someone left they only took 1 person with them...

At least that is the way I understood it. I am happy for these guys, but it seems Walter's is just poaching our guys because he has no other connections. Doesn't bode well for his future in Purdont if he has no connections.
It’s more like a guideline 🤪

It will be the same role, and we could match any offer.

I think it's probably less that he chose Walters over Bielema than that the IW camp, of which Patterson is CEO, chose Graham Harrell over Barry Lunney.

[Chump Edit, Gritty is a dum dum]
I just don’t get this take. Not saying that IW won’t follow CPat to Purdue, but you seem to be saying that Patterson took the Purdue job because IW would be better in Harrell’s system. I get the two of them are close, but you really think CPat is making decisions about his career based on what might be better for IW?

there have been whisperinigs that of all the assistant coaches on offense, CPat was the one "valued" least by BB and Lunney.
And Im not suggesting he was pushed out.

He certainly had the least experience on this level.

Did the whisperings occur before or after he left? I noticed the other coaches suddenly became dead weight after we knew they were leaving
He was brought on primarily to recruit, specifically to land Isaiah Williams. He wasn't brought in because of his coaching genius. And quite frankly, we haven't fared terribly well recruiting St. Louis either.

RBs have looked pretty good though.

In this world of college sports…..anything is possible. Don’t know what IW is going to do.
Heck he can enter the portal can't he?
A lot of teams would love to have him, hope he stays with us,
but if he leaves it gives us another opening for the portal so who knows how that works out?

You're right. CP was the wrong person to raise this point. But I heard plenty of the post-mortem critique about Walters and Kane. And if CP stayed he would still be without reproach

Still no guarantees he stays, but sure sounds like he plans to despite the speculation on here that IW to Purdue was a done deal or CPat likely wouldn’t have been hired by CPatt.
I have no idea whether he stays or goes, but this is exaclty what he'd say if he were staying. It's also exactly what he'd say if he were going. He's got a bowl game to play in, he's not going to tell the media he's packing his bags.

Not surprising. The main reason Patterson was kept around was to help the coaching transition (which he did a good job in keeping a lot of key players out of the portal). But now I think the relationship has run its course with most of Lovie's guys gone and BB having other ideas for recruiting
