Sorry...this take just doesn't hold up. PU got boat raced by scUM...barely got by Maryland at home by one...hell Nicholls St. put up 90 on them.
They are propped up by a super efficient offense. If the shots don't fall for them...they are in trouble because they aren't as solid on D.

We seem to stop competing for stretches in the last few games. We've all seen what this team can do when it defends and rebounds. You simply are not going to win on the road in the B1G if you don't defend and rebound. We did neither for most of this game.

Next practice ain't gonna be easy.

I’d like Curbelo to get his legs back and take back the starting role and initiating the offense. Trent looks tired. He passed up open shots tonight he never does.

Id like to see AC TF and RJ at the 123. Bring Plummer in as a gun hand off the bench. He’s too much of a liability on defense IMO.

The 4 spot continues to be a puzzle yet solved. DMW just looks flat out bad. Grandison has been bad as well. I would keep Grandison in and hope he figures out his shooting woes. I think Hawkins needs longer stretches of PT as well. Hawkins would be the perfect 4 if he could hit a 3 and play smart for long stretches.

It’s time for coach to shake things up a bit.

lol......For the first year or two when I was around 6-7 years old I had a rim nailed to a tree and no net .......My dad finally got me a net to put on the rim and the first time I shot and heard that sweet swish sound , man , I was hooked ........One of my buds would come over and we shot hoops from early morning till it got dark.....sometime , somewhere , one of us uttered swisherrooski after a made shot and it stuck .....sweet memories ............

I hope not .......We still have the ability to win or at least share the B1G regular season title .....But , we have zero chance if he keeps riding the non production of the veterans right now......We have 5 games left in conference .........How bad does it have to get before BU and staff implement the needed changes to infuse some much needed energy and hustle back on the court......

I highly doubt that R J , Goode and Podz would have performed worse than what DMW , Jake and Plummer did tonight......

These are my opinions and only my opinions .......We will see if BU is willing to make the changes needed this Saturday to stay in the hunt for a title.....

BTW, agree 100%
I saw a BIG interview a few weeks ago with another team player who was in his last season and was asked what caused the recent improvement in his play and said he suddenly realized that he was nearing the end and that was motivation enough.

We still haven’t figured out our best rotation- Curbelo needs to play with Kofi, we still have them on separate rotations until the second half, RJ needs to play more

I have no idea why we go through such bad stretches but the handoff weave and stand around and jack-up threes is not an offense
We have the best player in the country - we need to use him

I'm not dissing dmw.....his play is dissing him ......it's plain to me he is either hurt , dog tired , or both.......he has won games for us with his play ......he is now playing below his own level of play that we have seen....time for change , for the good of the TEAM......after all , it is a TEAM sport...........jmho

This is close to what I was thinking too. I think we gain some athleticism by doing this which we appeared to be sorely lacking over the last three weeks. Remember the good old days when Trent and Jacob attacked the basket and actually shot layups instead of trying to shovel it to Kofi three inches away?

Full disclosure...I have not read any post game comments but, as someone who critiqued the horrible early season playing AND coaching. This pretty much sums up my personal issues with how this year has played out. Player of the year candidate looked soft, defensive player of the Big Ten looked overe matched, potential coach of the year looked embarrassed...not sure what happened the last 2 weeks but damn, this team sure is frustrating. Potential is through the roof but production is straight horrible.

Player of the year candidate had 20 and 10. I am really not sure what else you are asking of him. It's the rest of the team and their effort that let us down.

Probably nit-picking but this seemed like a perfect match up for Kofi to blow his season totals out of the water. Whether it's a legitimate foul or not, Kofi needs to stop asking for the call and get back on defense and play his game. If he's looking for a potential NBA contract he has to adapt.

As much of a defender of DMW and Grandison as I've been, when they're both in the game our offense lacks variety. Inside-outside, work it around the perimeter, into Kofi, maybe back out, end result is either Kofi in the paint or one of the other four, for 3. When we're hitting 3s, this is a great offense. But when we're struggling, yikes. We need to get more minutes to guys who can give us a different look, particularly when the shots aren't falling. Right now that means Belo (though he's been struggling a little himself), RJ, and Hawkins (who's been inconsistent, but showed some life today).

I think this is a good team that can make a final four, but I also fear it's also an inconsistent team that can get upset in the first round. And while I know BU's teams tend to get significantly better as the season progresses, I don't think we've seen that this year. Instead we've seen a team that alternates between looking legit and looking like it's being exposed, often within the same game. If I had to guess, I'd say injuries probably stunted our usual growth as a team.

When the guys feeding Kofi are playing lazy, that impacts Kofi. When the guys around Kofi go ice cold so that a team can double and triple him without penalty, that affects Kofi. And yet he had 20 and 10. I really am not worried about Kofi.

The thing about DMW is that nobody is really expecting him to score much, anything from him is a bonus. What we we do need from him is 4/5 boards 2/3 assists and generally making someone on the other teams life miserable on offense. Oh yeah and a 100mph fast ball off an opposing players body, preferably skin. 😁
Got very little of that tonight.
