That's great news for him. I hope he's successful. Seems like a great dude.

1. Good for Ryan!

2. This is what happens when you have a good staff and a good team. A coordinator just left to take a head job at a Big 10/SEC school. There isn’t a better indication of how other schools see your program being run than that.

3. Everyone knew Walters was leaving sooner than later. I have to assume BB is ready with the next man up.

Ugh. Best of luck to him, though, except for when he's coaching against us. Hope Bielema can get someone close to his caliber. Tall order. Really though I'm happy for him. He really deserved to get his shot after what he's proven the past few years.

Congrats to him! Hard work pays off that's the name of the game. I hope this doesn't affect our recruits though.

My first reaction was oh crap, but after reading all the positive posts and praise for him and what he’s done for Illini football, I’ve changed my tune. CONGRATULATIONS RYAN WALTERS!!!

Good for him. Would have rather he got the Colorado job. Bit unfortunate that he landed somewhere just a couple hours from UI, and we will likely be going against him in a lot of recruiting battles.

Wow, really surprised, but good for Ryan. He's stepping into an incredible situation, not just a B1G team, but one that just won its division.

inevitable, but I wanted him back for one more season. Great for him though and very well deserved. Tempered by the fact that he's going to a conference rival. Thought PU would eff it up. Ugh.
There's a lot of Purdue fans who think they effed it up

I am truly happy for him, I am. And I’ve already said I hope he finds success as long as he loses to us every year.

But if I’m being candid, he looks BAD in that Purdue black and gold. Bleh!

Orange and Blue forever!
Who doesn’t?

Congratulations to Ryan. He has earned this opportunity and it can't hurt for those who would replace him here to see his move into the HC job at a high level. I trust BB to have his list ready and JW to pay what it takes to move forward. If we didn't learn how that can work through the Basketball reload we should get another chance to see excellent leadership and administration at work building a solid program. Can't wait to turn the next page and see where we are going.
