Did Walters become a terrible human being when he accepted his promotion? Why do you wish him ill-will?

You said you want to "crush him". But words have meaning. Have you ever been to a war zone? Do you know what crush-him means in a war zone? And do you know why war zones are called 'conflict zones' and not 'competition zones'? Do you think conflict zones earn that designation because of their amazing sports facilities?

Words have meaning, and you are intentionally conflating competition and conflict. Conflict is unhealthy. Competition SHOULD BE healthy. But cheaters cheat, resulting in conflict, which has consequences that no sane person would celebrate. Sports are competition. Using terms of war and conflict doesn't make you appear as a better fan or more capable competitor, it marks as someone who hasn't had their life on the line and seen what happens to the losers.

I saw some mention of other candidates for the PU job on some Boiler Boards......any speculation if Walters was first option? I see Walters interviewed for CU job.

If I win, the fact that everyone else came up short is a given. I want them at their best when I beat them. I want them healthy, rested, and ripping off personal bests. I don't want any weird calls from the refs that gives one team an unearned advantage. I don't want it to be all my fans in the stadium. I want the peak performance of two worthy competitors and for me to decisively win, fair and square.

No need to sneak in the side door. Go through the front! Let it end with two fan bases who had a great year and can be proud of their athletes.

The question in my mind that I don’t expect to ever know, is did Kane go because we chose Henry or did we choose Henry because Kane wanted to stay with Walters? It doesn’t really matter because it’s done and we are moving forward. Thanks to Coach Kane for his contributions and I look forward to seeing what Henry and his new staff can put together.
