Meanwhile, Cal plays Oregon tomorrow in the PAC 12 semifinal. Stayin alive.
Cal is in if they win. Might be in anyway after todays win.
It's not remotely clear to me that their resume is better than ours.
6-10 vs the Top 100 and 1-7 vs the Top 50 against our 10-13 and 3-9. Neither team has a marquee win, both have only one 100+ loss. Both fail the eye test, frankly.
Yeah, I'll be shocked if Cal is in. It would make no sense to me.
I agree, but that perception could change with a win over Oregon today.
Not just perception. The substance of the resume changes if they can put a marquee win on it.
True. Poor choice of words. I think Oregon would probably give them the marquee win to squeeze in.
It really wouldn't shock me. I'm not just trolling with the First Four stuff.
The Illini will likely receive an NIT berth, and Brown said Illinois had put in a bid to host the first two rounds.

Not that those posts had any merit, but you can put to bed any speculation that Illinois will turn down an NIT bid.
I will not waste my time with NIT
Normally this is my attitude, but not this year. This senior class deserves a better attitude from us fans. This is one of our last chances to watch one of the all-time greats to put on the orange and blue. Morgan has worked hard and improved every single year. And Tracy has been one of the best ambassadors this university could ask for. Plus, this team has a whole has worked hard all season. I would love to see them make a run in the NIT.
