Just looked up the composite rankings for the 2017 classes and Illinois is at #39. When was the last time we were that high? Don't know if this is the right place for this and I'm sure it has been talked about just wanted to see if anyone could tell me that.

I'm guessing the 2011 class. Maybe 2009?

2008 and 2009 classes were top 30.

I'm one of the few people that thinks this would be a huge get. I'm glad i'm not the only one.

Well, there's the three of us, and Lou Tepper.

I think we all agree that the team starts with both sides of the line. But a very good punter helps a lot.

Probably best to wait 24 hours before really nailing down exactly where this class stands in the Big Ten and nationally, especially since it might not be done yet.

It won't stand head and shoulders above Beckman's 2013 and 2015 classes, and it's not in the league of Zook's 2007 and 2008 classes, but the scouting process that went into identifying these guys and the quality of coaching they will receive once they are here is night and day from those staffs. And this is just Year 1.

On a path to the stars? No. On a path to stability and solidness? No question.

Roundtree would be quite the surprise. It looked like Indiana had this one locked up. He could be on the depth chart this fall.
