would love some insight from the insiders, but isnt this kind of weird after the season we had last year? Seems like he would want to be hands on. Practice like you play, play like you practice.
I kind of like the idea. It gives the assistants an opportunity to work outside of their comfort zone and gives them at least a little taste of what it take to be an in-game HC. That comes in handy if Brad is unavailable somehow (like getting tossed for being honest about how bad B1G officiating is).

He did the same thing in Italy. Touches on it here at about the 5:27 mark;

His way makes sense to me. He gets a chance to give his assistants experience they need and Underwood can observe from a point of view that he doesn't normally see. Gives everyone a chance to get better.

It's easy to forget that BU is also a manager of people in addition to being a coach. Just like in other professions, good managers give their team chances to stretch beyond their current roles and gain marketable experience. This is him being a good boss.

Maybe he is also thinking of the future of his assistants, who will be around, who might not be. I don't know. :-/

not an insider, but I imagine there isn't going to be a ton of coaching in these games anyway. just gonna be practicing basic offense and defense. can't imagine there is going to be many wrinkles or set plays in Spain.

Hey fellas! So I decided to book at last minute trip to Madrid to HOPEFULLY watch the game Sunday. Ive been trying different avenues to get more information on how to get into the gym for the game. Still cant get through to anyone. The athletic department wasnt/isnt selling any tickets and I cant get a hold of anyone in the arena/gym. Is anyone here making the trip or have info on how to guarantee entrance to the game?

Print out an official looking “Prensa” badge. You’re with Euro Basketball United. Be confident and just walk in.

Does anyone know if any media personal made the trip and will be sending back reports, stats, maybe box scores, etc of the games?

Seriously. Ojeleye, Victor Claver, Damien Inglis and Brandon Davies all at least had cups of coffee in the NBA. You may remember Davies as the co-starring big man alongside Jimmer Fredette on those BYU teams. You also may remember BYU suspending him for having premarital sex with his girlfriend while BYU was the AP #3 team in the country.

Valencia also has Kassius Robinson, who averaged 16 points for Mizzery in 2018 on 42% 3-point shooting.

Quite a tough roster.
Suspended him for what???

Most of the time when a team takes an overseas trip the head coach lets the assistants coach a game. Also I’m football scrimmages a lot of the times the DC takes one team and the OC takes the other while the HC just watches and manages situations that he wants to make sure they go over

I’m getting really excited for this group. I think(I hope) we have more willing defenders. I also don’t think there is any way we shoot as poorly as we did last year. 163rd in the nation can’t happen again. We started the season last attacking the rim and I hope we do that again this year. Seek a head and dunk on it…that mentality went away mid season last year.
