Right, but even under the preexisting rules, head coaches weren't allowed to actually meet with recruits, they were just allowed to visit high schools creating a weird double-standard that was tough not to violate.
It doesn't make a ton of sense to me that head coaches are subject to different recruiting rules than assistant coaches.
Care to elaborate? Are these guys transferring as they've fallen down the depth chart?

Happens every spring, probably more so with a staff changeover.

If it was realized that they were not going to be much of a factor for the program, isn't it best for them to move on and concentrate on securing their degree?

Some guys don't make the grade. Happens everywhere in D1. My hope is that these kids are given good support towards finding a more suitable landing spot.
