Waino and Wacha both are high risks. Waino just had surgery, and can he really go 240+ innings again (counting playoffs)? Probably not. Wacha had a weird should fracture, and you don't know how he will respond to it. Will he be healthy? Who knows. And Lackey won't be with the Cardinals after this season. Also, the Cardinals have the money to pay a Hamels/Price/Scherzer, Lynn, and Heyward. They have a big TV contract coming up, and they have saved money each year for a time to strike, and this is the time.
