Brewers just took a 2 run lead in the 11th over the Reds. Just win our games.

Jordan Walker joins the team in Pittsburgh tonight...........I hope he can produce enough to lock down an outfield position and end the season as the NL ROTY............JMHO.........................

With the time he spent in the minors, it's gonna be tough to catch up to the year players like Corbin Carroll, James Outman, or even Kodai Senga are having right now. I'd like to see it happen but I'm also realistic about it.

Do we need him in the top 3 in voting for the comp pick or does he have to win it. I will look it up later.

Per the new CBA, he has to win it to get an amateur draft pick after the first round. If he finishes 2nd or 3rd, the team gets an additional international pick. That's why the Mariners got an additional pick because of Julio Rodriguez winning rookie of the year.

If a player finishes top three in either MVP or Cy Young voting, he will also earn his team a pick after the first round. Players finishing fourth or fifth in Cy Young voting also earn an international pick.

PDJ with a base knock snapping an 0 - 25 streak......good for him ..........cardinals with the bases loaded for the third inning in a row.......2 outs , Pirates pitching change........we need more runs , we are up 5 - 1......

going to bottom of 7th , still 5-1 Cardinals..............

Pallante had a 1-0 count on Suwinski and marmol brings in a righty instead of Cabrera for a lefty lefty situation........Gallegos gets bombed and now pirates up 7-5 going into the top of the 8th.....and now Cabreras is warming up in the cardinals bullpen for the bottom of the 8th........Marmol might be managing himself into the unemployment line......................

Strange strange bullpen management.......reminds me of Mike Matheny................JMHO

AND , of course , Cabrera strikes out Suwinski on 3 pitches , in the bottom of the 8th.....why , oh why , didn't marmol bring cabrera in to face him in the bottom of the 7th......probably be a lot different score........

There was a poster over on the scout board years ago named " the beast is back " and his favorite line was " he's out of his league".......

I'm beginning to think that applies to Marmol to a T......................................I really really do...........................

well , that was one big cluster***K.....................................................
couldn't agree more Mr. Pru, the bullpen has been a nightmare with only a few exceptions, then add BAD moves by Marmol. hope the front office makes some moves, this is painful to watch.

Painful is so correct.......2nd of june and the cardinals are still in last place in the weakest division in MLB..........

I really think I have had more " why did marmol do that ? " this year alone than all the years of Schildt...............

Gotta think if the Cardinals are still in last place at the All Star break that a change in the managers position will happen......

maybe Joe M. gets his shot..........All I know is this is not setting well with Cardinal nation.....being a subscriber to the paper I can read all the comment section posts and they are NOT HAPPY with Marmol...........

has he lost the team ??............................

You know this as well as I do . But here goes. Matheny was hired and fired by the same people who hired and will eventually fire Marmol. And I will add Schildt in there for good measure. I do not know about you, but I do not have very much confidence that management will hire anyone better. As an outsider looking in, it is my view that mangement feels they can put someone in the position. He can look at his cards. Check the analytics, and go from there. And this can be done by someone, who has no previous major league experience as a manager. I know that is an oversimplification, but that is the way I feel.

If you want the Cardinals to fire Marmol, fine. But who would you want to replace him with right now that is currently available, would be a serious candidate, and want to take the job immediately?

The cardinals will never do it, but mid season house cleaning is the answer. I'd keep from this entire managerial staff Pop, stubby, and Willie. Everybody else, hit the road!

Unfortunately, they will only hire another Mozeliak yes man. They will never hire someone like Francona, Madden or a young Larussa while Mo is in charge.

Thou shalt not question the Mighty Mo...

You sure it's not your own Cardinals bias that's leading you to that conclusion?
I, too, hate to listen to the opposing team's broadcasters. It is definitely Cardinal bias but also I don't want to hear the broadcast talking all about our opponents. Pure bias and I come by it genetically. I was raised this way also.

What Aaron Judge just did to the fence at Dodger stadium was incredible. What a catch!

It's weird. It's almost like those opposing teams broadcasters get paid to talk about the opposing teams.

There are a lot of good broadcast teams out there. If you ever get a chance to watch a non-Cardinals game on MLB Network, you'd be able to see some of the best around the country. The favorite opposing broadcasters that I like to listen are the broadcasters for the Mets, White Sox, and Dodgers.

The Cardinals intend to change who they got available ahead of Sunday’s series finale at PNC Park. Tres Barrera, the third catcher on the team, said he was notified Saturday night the team would remove him from the active roster and the 40-man roster. That clears a spot for a bat to be added ahead of Sunday’s morning game – and Class AAA Memphis has just the bat that would make sense. Slugger Luken Baker leads the International League with 18 home runs and 53 RBIs to go with his .641 slugging percentage.

I would send down Tres Barrera....makes absolutely no sense to have him up
Contreras and Knizner can hold down the fort....Barrera never plays and is a wasted spot. Ivan Herrera literally is hitting over .350 in the last month in AAA. If the Cards need to move Barrera/Herrera up for spot catching duty than that is fine.

Cardinals have gotten away with a few roster spots lately due to injuries. Otherwise I would call it mismanagement of roster spots. Keeping Barrera up is a waste of a position spot. Running a 6 man rotation is a waste of a reliever spot even though that is going away. Matz needs to stay in the bullpen. Cardinals will make some moves as the season goes on...until than hopefully they can maximize the guys they have in the minors/bullpen that can be utilized.

Comments I made from a few days ago. I actually like that Barrera got put on waivers. Herrera just turned 23 a few days ago and smashing it lately. Baker is on his way up and hope he can bring some of that pop with him.

Said this earlier in the year but Cardinals really need Gorman to develop at 2B. Still just a baby himself but his overall value to this team is much higher at a position than DH. He can still spot DH but that leaves the door open for other guys. It also means some of our utility guys are expendable if/when we need to make a trade.

More looking towards the future but hopefully Winn is the real deal......if so Winn can play SS or 2B, Edman can play 2B/SS/OF and Gorman can play DH or 2B
