Jim Edmonds looks like a lobster. Not sure if it’s just the lighting or he’s majorly sunburned from So Flo.

wow.....this is unbelievable.....time for me to take a break from this awful team.....................
May have been stated previously so forgive me for not sorting through 54 pages. Been a lifelong Cardinal fan. Until more people do this, en masse, by not going to the stadium, things will not change. This organization has been taking advantage of its fanbase since 2011 by operating on the cheap while giving lip service to the desire to win. Actions speak louder than words, and if Mo has not been lying for the last 12 years, he is the most incompetent GM in history. Excuse me, president of baseball operations.... what a joke. He's worn out his welcome many times over, and DeWitt should be ashamed of the product he's trotted out on the field in the last 12 years. A total disservice to the fanbase and guys like Yadi, Wainright, Goldy, and Arenado. What a waste of arguably 4 hall of fame caliber guys - and I'm sure I'm possibly forgetting one or two more. Disgusting performance by the front office for a decade plus, and it is finally catching up in a big way this season.

For me, these two screen shots pretty much sum it up:

It happened again. Turned it off after it was 0-5. Saw we had comeback and made it a game. Kept track of the score. Kept fighting. Got real excited after the Walker hit so I turned it back on.

I blame myself.
Not your fault of course. I can't ever remember a Cardinals team that can come up with more ways to heartbreakingly blow games than this one.

For those that want to spend more money....better hope Mozeliak is out of the picture or it will get mismanaged once again

I mean, this season has been an unmitigated disaster, but the club has been far more successful, and consistently so, than it had any business being given the lack of investment over Mo's tenure. So it's hard to say whether Mo would do well with a legit payroll. He's done better with a payroll outside the top tier than most, in most seasons.

Mo hasn't drafted an ace pitcher that has started for this club in his 20+ years with the Cardinals and hasn't spent free agency money wisely in 10+ years now. Mo had a legit payroll until the past few years when pitching prices went up. Saying he hasn't had a legit payroll for majority of his run is nonsense. He gets all the credit in the world for Goldy and Arenado lately. He should also get the blame for trading off a few huge pieces in the past 5 seasons as well(not even in those trades).

Cards had the #13 payroll in 2022 (6th best record, won division) and #11 in 2021 (8th best record). #10 in 2020 (13th best record, made playoffs, last time we won a playoff game). Last time we had a legit payroll was probably 2019 at #6 (10th best record but won division, made NLCS. Last time we won a playoff series). We were #10 in 2018 (13th best record).

In this 5 year span the Cardinals made the playoffs 4 times, won the division twice, came second twice and third once. They've never had a top 5 payroll in that span, and only once (2019) had a top-8 payroll (which is where they should be given the consistently top of league attendance and tv viewership numbers). Since that recent high water mark of 2019 the payroll ranking has gotten worse each season.

BTW in 2015 we won 100 games and had the best record in the majors...with the #12 payroll in the MLB... Under Mo.

I don't think Mo is some revolutionary GM and I'm fine if we jettison him but if ownership doesn't change its philosophy we're just going to end up with someone making the same type of moves. Possibly a better version but likely a worse one.

We also won the World Series in 2006 and 2011 with the 11th payroll both times, once under Jocketty and Mo

JMO but MO is replaceable. Not mentioning usernames but a few on this forum have mentioned they don't think the Cardinals have had a legit shot of winning in 10+ years. Jocketty was the GM who built this thing up not Mo. Jocketty was fired, Luhnow moved on and Mo is still here.

I actually agree with this. I also think we could have easily been as bad as teams like the Rangers and Angels who've consistently done worse than us, despite spending more. Like I said, I'm ok with canning Mo but with this ownership I wouldn't expect much better from his successor and there's a very real possibility things get worse.

Also, I'm a big fan of Jocketty but the team was not in great shape when he was fired. Losing record that year and 4th place finish the next year. Then from 2009-2015 under Mo we won the division 4 times, 2nd place 3 times, 2 pennants and a WS. Jocketty went to the Reds where he did well, and won a couple division titles but did precisely nothing in the playoffs and the Reds regressed back to a last place team by 2015. I think he was a great GM for his era, but that era had passed by the time the Cards fired him.
