Hochman what is this "poor pitching" you are talking about?
Realizing that nothing is too good for this franchise, didn't DeWitt, Mo and Girsch go out and scour the free agent market this past off season looking for premier pitching talent for the team? Didn't they call every single organization seeking trades that would put the Cardinals over the top this year and for the next 5 years to come?

That is usually something that happens to the Cardinals. Blatant missed 3rd strike call and the batter gets a big hit right after.

there are far worse city connect uni's out there. birds on the bat staying is the biggest plus.
i think the hats are a font reference to the stl browns. i'm interested in seeing how pronounced
the wavy pin stripes are. they seem to have a weird sheen? i also want to see the backs. tiny
letters or back to the full sized ones.

I understand MLB's desire to drive revenue by creating new hats and jerseys. Go for it. Some will but I won't buy it. Give me the classic white jersey with the birds on the bat. No need to improve on perfection.

Cardinals sweep the Orioles in a 3 game series , first Cardinals sweep this season..

Cards have won 8 out of last 10 games....

And now tied for 3rd place with the Pirates in the Central Division...

Well friends, we are looking at big series this weekend against the Cubs. Pitching has been great, offense has been showing a lot of life, and we are taking advantage of mistakes. We need to clean up some things defensively, an error in 8 or 9 straight, but we are winning those games.

I'm still very much on the "false hope" side of things for the Cardinals. I might change my mind if they take at least 2 of 3 and play well this weekend. Over 162 games, every team will have a run of good games. I don't see what's structurally changed with the team to really make me change my perception of what's happening with the team.

I agree. The biggest difference has been the offense. They are hitting for power and they are hitting with runners on. Doing that for 3 straight against the O’s makes me think/hope that is staying.They can’t get swept this weekend. Go 1-2 or get 2 out of 3 and the race is on.
Should be getting Gio and Middleton back soon to lengthen that pen even more. The pen has been elite.

I’m a hopeless romantic for winning Cardinals baseball.

Looking at tonight's starters.............

Imanaga 5-0 ERA 0.84
Mikolas 3-5 ERA 5.77

Tilted towards the cubbies..................

Our offense has to continue to produce for me to jump back in with both feet , and Imanaga is for real........the game I watched that he pitched was an eye opener...........I would think he will get a ton of K's with his splitter and park it on the outside corner low in the zone..........If past performance by the Cardinal batters rings true , then they will flail away at it and miss it by a wide margin..........But , hope springs eternal and I will be cheering them on.........

I haven't had time to look further into the series as my vertigo has raised it's ugly head again and I am still feeling it's effects.......

Let's go Cardinals................

Mikolas' numbers are a bit Jekyll and Hyde when you really look at them as he has had a few bad starts that have really inflated his ERA. His FIP is 4.61 so he has had a bit of bad luck.
