Weird. Game today is 6:15. Why wouldn't they just play at 1 today? Also saw the Marmol lineup with Goldie hitting 3rd at .211 while Burly in the 6 hole at .298. Brilliant. This guy is dumb as a rock. Just because you are a veteran with a big contract doesn't guarantee you a spot in the batting order.
I'm sure there's a reason for it but I couldn't tell you as to why they didn't play it today. The one positive about that doubleheader being when it is is that that is the final series before the All-Star break so there's not as much of a concern of the teams having played too many games during that stretch.
Goldy has been hitting better since his 0-32 slump. His average being over .200 is quite the accomplishment right now to be honest. He's still one of their best hitters at this point, even with the average being lower than expected. He absolutely deserves to be hitting in the 3 hole.

I'm surprised they didn't squeeze two in today. Heave chance of rain again tomorrow.
As far as Goldy, he is hitting .240 or so over his last 12, with only two 0-fers. He has scored 7 times with 2 HR's and still isn't driving much in with 5 RBI. He is a really under rated base runner, so him getting on has been a plus.
I thought for sure they would've found an "injury" earlier in the season and put him on the IL to hopefully let him find himself. They let him play thru it and he has been better. When Goldy starts taking some pitches the opposite way for hits, that has been a tell for me he is right.

I did chuckle when I heard him say he knew that half the fans watching would think he's biased considering who he played for. I guess his first game for Fox earlier this season was Cardinals/Mets in New York.
They have me excited to watch tonight. First time in a while. Loved the red city jerseys too!

I thought at first he said that, but I think he said we’ve had a lot of runs with two outs. The announcer said the cubs have scored X amount with 2 outs and the cardinals have scored X amount.
