St Louis Cardinals 2026

I am now ready for the Cardinals to work toward top draft picks. Anemic offense and weak pitching staff is steamrolling the Cards toward the cellar.

Just looked this up. I remember when Matt Holiday had his appendix removed. He missed just 9 days.

Just read JoJo is on the 15 day IL and it sounds like he will take longer.

Each person is different! Just was amazed Holliday was out a short amount of time.
I don't think JoJo had surgery , just like Jordan Walker didn't have surgery either.........guess recovery time is longer if no surgery.........

{ 53-51 }

Cardinals finally get some offensive production and great pitching to get a 7-0 win over the Reds Saturday night.........wearing the traditional ROAD blue uni's at home for a Saturday game inspired some effective AB's and another Quality Start by 11 game winner Pallante making his season record now at 11-6.......glad to see him finally pitching better......

Pallante 7 IP , 2 H , 0 er , 1 BB M 8 K's .......
Graceffo 2 IP , 1 H , 0 ER , 2 BB , 4 K's..........

Walker 2-4 ...
Burleson 3-4 , 1 R , 1 RBI .......
Herrera 2-4 , 1 R , 2 RBI ....
B. Jordan 1-4 , 2 RBI .....

Cardinals back in 3rd place @ .005 ahead of Pirates.........12 GB of Brewers.........

seems like Walker is in the dreaded post Home Run Derby slump....no Homer's in 13 games and still stuck in the 70's in rbi's...still hitting high exit velo but little production.....Burleson now has 70 rbi's....he should have been an All Star instead of Herrera... JMHO....

The offense has been reliant on 4 guys all year, and when a couple of them cool off there is no one that steps up because there are too many unproductive bats on the roster. Add that to a shaky bullpen and you got what you got.

I have hated the HR derby since the days of McGwire. It ruins the hotter for a long time.

Anyone got any trade deadline hopes and predictions?

May, Lars, jojo, and O’Brien have been the candidates all year. But with the rise of some of these starters eating serious innings - I’m curious if they can get a nice haul for Pallante or Leahy.

I also think I’ve come around to shopping Herrera. Especially since it seems a very expensive market for bats this cycle. And Burleson

Herrera would bring value being an All Star this year and we have quality catching depth..........
Nootbaar is injury prone and not a power hitting LF'er...................Baez is the answer in LF as far as power.........
May was signed as trade bait initially......injury history........depends on trade return value..........
O'Brien has a lot of saves but scares me every time he enters a game.......also , he is 31 yrs old......float him around and see ..All Star...
Romero being injured muddies the water on him...................

no way they trade Pallante or Leahy..................now , Liberatore maybe.................JMHO................

McGreevy Pallante and Leahy have been their 3 best starters and none are making any real $$. I'm keeping those 3. May and Liberatore can go in a deal for prospects. So can O'brien and Noot. Put Herrera back at DH and leave him there. He adds nothing as a catcher and his offense suffers at the same time. We already have plenty of crappy catchers we don't need another one.

I remember when Jim Edmonds hurt himself while in this.

As Pru mentioned, Walker hasn’t hit a HR since the contest.
