As the tensions of trade deadline day melting away the Cardinals jumped out to a 6-0 lead only to fall behind 7-6 but rally with a 7 run 8th inning to hammer a 13-7 victory on the Bronx Bombers.................

crazy stat , Cardinals had 5 homers since the All Star break and then hit 5 homers TONIGHT..............

Mr. Bloom needs to be commended for his astute trading value , but moreso his NOT trading Burleson.....I have said in the past that Burleson will compete for BA titles in the future and now he is maturing into a power hitter with 18 for the season and 6 rbi's tonight inches him closer to 80 for the year.........Burly should have been an All Star this year but I believe he will be one in the future........

It's been a good day..................it really really has.........................

That is a remarkable piece of work by Bloom, and really just have to wonder how much more would Milwaukee even have had to give for Skubal?

It's an insane deal.

Frias is so far away and his range of outcomes is very wide, but his tools are potential super star tools (also could never make the majors, who knows, he's 18). Tearing up the complex league and then not completely falling on his face as an 18 year old in A ball is a good sign.

I'm pretty high on Ragsdale. If you look at his draft reports from last year, the knock was power. Well, he's shown crazy power in his first full pro season this year (higher k% but kept his high bb%) and has just laid waste to AA. Offense has been high across AA this year so this could just be a flash in the pan, but his profile reminds me of all those college mid round draft guys that needed a tweak that the Cardinals turned into good MLB players throughout the teens and aughts (Matt Carpenter, DeJong, Edman, Brendan Donovan).
