St Louis Cardinals 2026

IIRC the Marlins put Stanton on the trade block first, along with that mammoth contract. Then Ozuna. There was no noise on Yelich until after Ozuna was traded. Mo was desperate to get a power bat and jumped on Ozuna. He was mediocre in 2 seasons here then bolted for the Braves and had several very productive seasons in ATL.

Liberatore: 5.15 ERA. 1.52 WHIP. .292 BAA. When hitters are hitting almost .300 off of you not many bats are being missed.

The completed Stanton to STL trade only for him to block it is a moment I always forgot

The only good memory I have of Ozuna was when my son had his 9th birthday we went to Coors. We had seats against the left field line and Ozuna caught the 3rd out of an inning. I asked him for the ball and he tossed it to us. I gave it to my son and he was happy. Ozuna led off the next half inning and hit a grounded down the 3rd base line that came right to us, I was able to field it (before the extended netting) and gave it to my sons best friend who was attending his very first MLB game. And so within 5 minutes I had gotten both of them a ball. It was pretty cool.

Wow; that was really cool! What were the chances?

Ozuna and Goldschmidt hit back-to-back HRs in the 2019 NLDS and I was there; STL won that series. Then they fell apart.

Ozuna got hot that series. I remember the announcers saying he was making himself a lot of money.

Just to clarify, this was a foul ball you're talking about, right?
I was thinking about whether I stated that or not about an hour after posting, and thought... well they should know right? Ya it was foul. Would have been terrible to get kicked out of a game on my sons birthday. If he got to keep the ball then it might have still been worth it, maybe.

Admittedly on Baez though.

I’m getting a little tired or guys like preito going to the plate putting together clutch ABs that are just 3 pitch strikeouts.

This team leads the league in with RISP where we just have the worst ABs you’ll ever see (I know it’s a made up stat / eye test lol)

Men on 3rd and 2nd, 1 out, tie game in bottom of 8th.

Torres goes up and 3 pitch strikeout

THAT'S A WINNER !!!!!!!!!.....................

A long hot and humid afternoon game featuring a little bit of everything ends with a Cardinals series victory win by
the score of 7-4.......

JJ Wetherholt with the tie breaking 2 run double followed by Herrera's 4th hit being an RBI single saves the Cardinals today.........the Rockies were tough getting double digit hits in all 3 games .....O'Brien comes in and gets his 29th save.............

Cardinals got 14 hits today with Burleson hitting his 19th smashed tater.........first 6 Cardinals got at least 1 RBI with J J 's double driving in 2 runs on the first pitch by a lefty reliever............I'm glad we signed Wetherholt long term....I really really am...........ROTY......

Agree on JJ!

Let’s hope the Rockies continue hitting like this against Arizona.

I’m really surprised no one took a shot with Riley O’Brien. He has 29 saves and is not a bad closer.
