I turned the game back on just intriguing time for the pitch of the 3rd HR

Cardinals win the second game of this 3 game series and will go for another series win tomorrow

This will be remembered as the " Baez game " much like the " Sandberg game " at the friendly confines of Wrigley field ....Forever etched into MLB and Cardinals history of the FIRST player to hit home runs in his first three AB's.........hitting to all 3 parts of the field shows he is more than a pull hitter.......it will be fun to see how his season progresses over the last 39 games remaining this season ........Cardinals go for the series win tomorrow @ 2:15 on ABC/ESPN.....................

Baez 3-4 , 3 R , 5 RBI , 3 HR'S ............
Burleson 1-3 , 3 R , 2 RBI , 1 HR , hit his 20th HR of the season ..............
Blaze Jordan 1-4 , 1 R , 1 RBI , 1 HR .......


McGreevy 6 IP , 5 H , 0 ER , 2 BB , 6 K'S.............Another quality start for McGreevy.............

BP closes out only allowing 1 R in last 3 innings............

also , Cardinals back over .500 @ 62-61............................

I was on the road. I could only get the Cubs announcers. The broadcast cleared up in the top of the 6th. They were gushing and giving him his flowers all the rest of the game.
I could hear the crowd cheering after his final AB. Was it praising him or happy that he made an out? Jack Buck would have explained it to the fans. I miss Jack.

Cubs broadcast I thought was pretty complimentary on the second and third homers as well.

Baseball does appreciation of opponents better than other sports imo
