STL Fan, I have been a little unfair to you along with some other posters, just like you have to us. This brand is all a matter of opinion. Nobody can tell someone else what to like and what not to like. People (such as myself) can't say "You have to like this" and you can't tell us we shouldn't like something. We aren't going to convince you and you aren't going to convince us it is all opinion. We disagree and that is fine.

Bottom line let's just hope we start winning some games!

They could have nailed every other element, and silver is something I'd have hated anyways. It's not our color. And on that jersey, we're using it not just as a compliment, but at the expense of one of our primary colors.

I know the silver has some people really, really excited. But it seems exceptionally off-brand to me.

You can certainly see how it's using Illinois as a vessel for Nike rather than the other way around, and I get why that sticks in your craw. But ultimately it just looks cool. And by the way, it looks to me like more of a gray than a shiny silver texture to it. Tough to tell before we see them on the court though.

Syracuse's new helmet colors/finish look way too close to our's for my liking.
Thankfully, we didn't end up with uniforms that looked anything close to theirs though. Also, Miami's new rebrand uni's are horrible. Can't see why in the world their kids got so excited over seeing them like someone earlier had posted. I guess some kids just like anything new at all no matter how bad it is.

Those uni's are turrible. I do not like the numbers at all. They are multi colored, numbers are weird looking, and doesn't fit Syracuse.

It's not off-brand, it's re-brand.

Plenty of schools have added a third color.

O&B are still the primary colors. I love the new secondary colors, dark steel gray and metallic silver, instead of just white. They look awesome with orange and also with blue.

I think this jersey is metallic silver but would look even better in dark steel gray and with F1GHT1NG 1LL1N1 in orange instead of white.

If I didn't already know this was Syracuse, I'd have a hard time figuring out what school it is (although Syracuse still probably would've been my first guess based on their recent uniform endeavors :thumb:)

I had a chance to swing by Game Day Spirit and check out some of the new fan apparel. Needless to say, I'm very disappointed (based on my own perspective). The cotton t-shirts in person look nothing like the online picture (and not in a good way). The dri-fit shirts look nice, but both the dri-fit and cotton shirts are HUGE. At least right now, nothing is being offered in slim-fit versions and so all of the gear is baggy and looks funny on me (skinny 6ft. tall guy). The only item i was really impressed with in person was the new polo, but again, was a bit too big on me.

The numbers are kinda strange, not terrible, but the purported reasoning behind them (replicates the skyline of NYC) is horrendous, desperate pandering. Can you imagine if we did the same thing with Chicago?

Overall I think those are cool designs, but I agree, their cardinal sin is having seemingly nothing to do with Syracuse image-wise. They very much give off the vibe of a Boise State "we're the new guys on the west coast and we don't care about your stodgy traditions". Syracuse is the old money establishment. And where the heck is the orange for a team called "The Orange"? Are they hiding an orange alternate from us? (probably)

Son wants a jacket for graduation but I don't think it likely they will have anything out in the next month. :(

Is it me or do the Blue football uni's look like Awebarn's? Not saying its a bad thing at all, but they are eerily similar.

Other than being a navy with orange trim football uniform, I don't really see the similarity.

They are hiding the orange alternate, just like the basketball team is hiding the Fighting Illini jersey.

What tradition does Syracuse have when it comes to football?

Looking at it closer, and spending time looking at them, I don't really see one either. However, for the casual football fan, if you glace at the TV and see the Illinois uni's, they will think its an Awebarn game. That is what I would think cause it's the close to the same shade of blue, and if we wear the white helmets (hope those are the primary) we would have the same kind of scheme.

Interesting concept since Syracuse is so 'upstate' from NYC. Seemed to be totally removed from each other when I lived in that state.

So what happened to these basketball shorts that are part of the nike press release but the ones in the presentation were the zig zag ones? Part of another set of uniforms that haven't been released?

The guy from Nike mentioned that grey was added because of the "Galloping Ghost" Red Grange. I will be shocked if the football team doesn't have grey helmets, jerseys and pants this year or next year.

Not a powerhouse, but a better overall and bowl record than UIUC. Probably similar to the Illini in that it is mostly in the past. Best players historically are Jim Brown and Floyd Little.
