Can't wear orange so either blue if we have them or grey.

Yeah those stripes are a mess. Looks like they made the top of the I two stripes, then got to the bottom and went

It should have started and ended in red and just set the thickness accordingly to make that happen.

As with this whole thing, nice idea, looks pretty cool, just missing attention to detail again.

If the stripes were all identical sizes, it looks like there would be some weird pencil-thin parts of stripes where the middle of the I flows into the end caps. So not sure how much better that would look. Just a thought.

Orange jersey with red on the helmet? Hot mess. Hopefully we at least win the game.

Geez I can't believe someone didn't smooth out the cloth on the table before taking the photo. makes it looked rushed and unprofessional.

I don't really understand these complaints about the stripes--looks fine to me. That's about as good as it's gonna get if you're putting an American Flag inside an ":illinois:"

Maybe the plan was to throw the Hawkeyes off so their focus would be on the helmets and not the plays going on around them.

Fashion mavens that they are we can expect to slice right through their D on the first drive as they are stunned by the clash between orange and red.

Very odd that the women's basketball team is wearing last year's uniforms when they have taken team pictures in their new ones (proving they have them). Perhaps since these were designed to be extremely lightweight and thin the fabric was partially see-through once they sweated while wearing them? Couldn't think of another reason not to wear them.

so you think we are the first team to sweat test this new fabric ? I find that hard to believe too.

Strange that they arent wearing the new unis, tho.

We actually were the first team to test them. The testing was done last year at several practices in Ubben. Also the rebrand event and press release highlighted that Illinois would be the first school to wear this new uniform style (cut and fabric).

The orange women's uniforms will not be delivered until January. Since they did not have all of the new sets they decided to not wear the new whites until all were on campus. The uniforms in the poster were altered with photoshop so that the new look could be used for promotional purposes.

Really like the new shade of orange. Looked good against NW

Two random questions for the board:

1) When do you think we first bust out the silver uniforms?

2) Any guesses on what these "mystery uniforms" are (the ones that Groce says are his favorites)?

To answer the original question, I feel like the Mizzou game might be a good candidate for the silver uni's. Rivalry game, neutral court. I'm usually one for wearing orange for the big games but I feel like the silver's will be for a special occasion much like the ghost uni's for HC.

The other jerseys I'm guessing will be a throwback of sorts. I would love to see a throwback to the Flyin Illini style with the "Fighting Illini" sandwiching the number on the front. A :chief: on the shorts would be an absolute dream come true, but unfortunately would never happen.

I was thinking silver for the UC game. And a throwback would be sweet and would probably be pulled out for a big home game to give the players some extra hype.

Krush has tweeted we'll see grey against Villanova. From what I've hear this is accurate. Can't wait to see them in primetime on national television.
