Coaching staffs and players always get this stuff before anyone else, sometimes by large amounts of time. From what I could tell Nike didn't know how well the Shield would be received so they didn't make a ton of it available for purchase so retailers wouldn't be left with huge quantities of product that they couldn't move. The store I work at we can't keep it in stock and we don't have more coming til February. Hopefully they'll realize just how much people are into it and make more available to meet demand.

I emailed game day spirit and they told me they had no knowledge of that sweatshirt being made available to the public. Not sure how much they would know though.

Any guesses as to what the "mystery jersey" Groce referred to as his favorite during the rebrand, and when we might break it out? Seems like a lot of people think its some sort of Flyin' Illini throwback, but I wouldn't be surprised with an '05 throwback, with it being 10 years and the bobblehead promotions they are doing
I sure hope its the Flying Illini throwback. It is the sharpest looking one the b-ball team has ever sported and will always generate the most fan buzz when they are used.
Am I the only one disappointed with how the silver uni's looked the other night? The pictures in the N-G looked like Nova was playing Syracuse rather then us. Very bland and boring uniform.

I liked them a lot. If "bland and boring" = "without the eyesore zigzags" then I would like more bland and boring uniforms.
I agree with that 100%.
Almost anything is better than goofy jag-zags on uniforms.
Just not a fan of us doing the same old gray or silver or black 'alternate' stuff. We (or NIKE) could be a lot more creative than that.

Yeah I think if a silver jersey had been suggested to me without actually seeing it I would've been totally against it. I'm surprised by how much I liked it.

I did not like the grey uni's, they are bland and look like most other schools grey unis. I do like the zig-zags, they are unique and one of a kind. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Methinks some of you are blind. 
I'm still waiting for lamp.

I enjoy a good black uni. Awesome alt. IMO. Of course when I see that Fighting or Flying ILLINI jersey, I am going to want that to be our regular.
I'm guessing it wouldn't be black, but more of the "dark steel gray" that is one of the new secondary colors since they seem to be heavily into the silver and gray look in most of the graphics they're using for men's basketball.
Edit: just now saw thatguy's last pic of the Purdue uni, so maybe it would be black after all.
