Since you guys seem to struggle a little bit in your reading comprehension, let me re-phrase as I would to my 5 year old.

It's not that any person can't like it. It's not that a lot of people can't like it. It's not that any person can't love it. It's the over the top worship of the shield/badge that suggests that for some there is a bit of groupthink going on.

You have people instantly posting "team shield". You have others applauding those that get on board with their opinion. It's very Notre Dame football-y to me.

We all stated going in to the rebrand that almost certainly there would be 50% of people that loved what was done and 50% of people who dislike what was done. That is human nature. That was a good prediction. That it seems 90% of people are not only in the approval, but the love camp, indicates that there is more to it than just liking the logo.

This is a statistical improbability.

Wow, remember when IntenselyOrange said it was the people that liked the shield that were the ones getting upset?

It's almost enough to make you question his self-professed talent for perception, self-awareness and objectivity.

He's just projecting his jealo... ah, I refuse to even sarcastically parrot Freudian woo woo.

Aside from this train of conversation, am I the only one who really, really, really, really loves the zig zag for reasons entirely unrelated to the Chief? It's going to look fantastic when our players are in motion.

Washington unveiled their new uniforms. Washington got Nike's newest jersey template with the Nike Chain Maille mesh on the front and back of the jersey. I wonder why we didn't get the new template?

The silver/grey b-ball uniforms are cool. The badge logo and the rest of the redesign, meh. It's unoffensive, but also uninspiring.

Washington's uniforms look good. Their gold helmet is golden (pun intended). But that texture on the white helmet is ridiculous. That won't last long. They did it to signify that there's snow in the Pacific Northwest? Wow.

I love the meaning behind their collar design, the sled dog mantra. Very cool.

I like UW's new uniforms OK, except for the ridiculous stripe (or whatever it is) on the sides of the white pants and, of course, the all-black uniforms, since their colors are purple and gold.-

This is a good illustration of why I like our rebrand overall. These Washington unis are filled with gimmicks just for the sake of gimmicks. Textured popcorn ceiling helmets (as TheSecretWeapon said), "stealth" black, Northwest Airlines ripoff point serifs on the numerals, "Dawgs" written on the pants ... all superfluous garbage that only lasts until the next gimmick replaces it.

Does anyone know if the :shield: will be available as a window sticker? I would love to put it on my car.

I'm guessing so. I think it will just take some time until such accessories are available.

Shouldn't alot of the apparel/merchandise be available now?

You would think they would be salivating at the demand from our fan base.

Give them ( us) what they want...plenty of it...and pronto!
Patience is not our virtue Mr. Nike. Never will be.

I'm guessing the bulk of sales typically comes from t-shirts, hats and polos, so offering that is good enough for now from a business standpoint.

I don't know much about uniform templates, but that seems to be fairly similar in design inspiration and technique to our uniforms. Maybe a bit more gimmicky as some other posters mentioned, but certainly our Red Grange vertical stripes are a bit of a gimmick as well. The eggshell helmet texture is....interesting.

I think it looks pretty good overall, the only reason that bothers me a bit is because I have always felt Washington's clean, simple Gold/Purple/Gold combo was quite possibly the best looking uniform in all of college football. I think people too often associate winning games with really beautiful uniforms, and while Washington has always had their ups and downs on the field, I think they have the classic look worth sticking to like the Michigans and the Auburns of the world. They don't have to be in a retro block font and sleeve stripe pattern necessarily, but adding that black side paneling takes away from the look, IMO.

The two-tone Illinois font design looks like one of those thermometer-type fund raising gauge symbols (Xmas stocking club etc.), the orange continues to rise as donations come in.

It doesn't look like they are going to reach their goal.

The shield design does nothing for me, too downward pointy railroady looking.

Grange's stripes are cool but the column reference is vague.

Some of the reworks provided by posters are better.

Overall, I don't think that look is bad. But that white-purple-white combo is one that should never be used, IMO. I'm also not a fan of that 'northwest' corner on the numbers, as it reminds me of the pointed corners on Minnesota's jersey numbers, which drive me crazier than they should.

I'm going to laugh if/when the W decals tear or get ripped off the white helmets in a game. From the pictures, it just looks like they're wavy from being laid on over that texture, and it seems like this would inevitably happen at least a couple times.
