I like both the uniforms on ESPN right now. Louisville's black chrome helmets look really cool and Miami's rebranded unis look better on the field than they did in the paint-by-numbers Nike unveiling photos.

Me too and I VERY rarely like anything Adidas puts out. The fact they are all black is probably hiding the bad stuff. ;)

I'm shocked at how much I like the Miami unis. Those green helmets look excellent.

the reality is that all of the orange you guys are examining is made out of different materials, and will looks a bit different under different lighting conditions. it's a common complaint because the plastic on helmets will look a bit different than the jerseys, especially with the glossier helmets.

Has Nike manufactured a rebrand visor (shield or otherwise)? I have looked for one to play golf in. It might just be that there isn't one to wear. It wouldn't be the fault of the visor wearer that Nike hasn't made one.

This visor has the rebranded block I. This is the Nike Coaches visor. They also have a "training" visor available on http://fightingillini.cbscollegestore.com. It's a couple bucks more (about $8 with shipping if you ship to a store), but it is in orange.

To each his own...I thought the green helmets looked terrible.

I agree! Miami's uniform 're-brands' have been some of the worst in the country since they ditched the great look they had back in the mid to late 80's.

Interestingly, those old miami uni's look very similar to the ones we currently use.

We know. This was discussed in the Ubben rebrand thread instead of the main rebranding thread.

I don't mind the oranges. I mind the pinks. Specifically, it bothers me that Nike was lazy enough to go with Pantone's peachy web-equivalent version of the orange and put that on everything instead of choosing something that resembled our orange for web/print distribution.

Well we'll look good in our all whites beating them.

I don't know if I like the way the Shield looks placed inside a larger round shield. I think it would look better, you know, as a shield by itself. Cuz, that's what it is!! :noidea:

Agreed - and not flat like that. If they're gonna do :shield:, they need to do :shield: !! :thumb:

I'm pretty sure they just put some shield logos on the Captain America kids shield that you can buy

Does anyone know the rules on socks/undershirt color?

I like the way the orange/orange/orange combo looks on the Nike promo photo way more than how it looks on LaCosse at the unveiling. I think a big part of it is the navy sleeves and navy socks. It turns it into a more blue/orange combo

I think that would look better than the traditional white socks if they went O/O/O with the uniform combo

There are no rules on socks and undershirt colors as far as I know. You can wear whatever you want.

nfl - big time..they get fined and nfl has rep at every game to police on field before the game.

college probably up to the coach or school.. may want neutral colors and or one of the main colors represented etc... so no neon green for example.

imho..i love the white helmet.. give me white helmet with all white. all orange all blue and call it a day. i dont in general like the mix ups.. fwiw
