A couple of your posts on this subject have seemed cryptic to me. Do you know something or am I overanalyzing?

That one random report had us finishing this up early this week, correct?
I think it points to Tilley doesn't it? Not being tied to a current program that he would be leaving before the end of the season etc.The football scoop thing? That was presuming a quick George hire.

I'm certainly not holding my breath for an announcement this week, but they kind of made it sound like we wanted this done regardless.

I don't know what Tiley has done after being our tennis coach but what makes him a good candidate? What administrative/executive experience does he have.

However the Australian Open is less than 2 months away, so it might not be the best timing for him to leave his current job.
So I went and read Sean Frazier's bio (NIU AD) and he seems interesting. I would think being in state, he's familiar with some of the people he would interact with if he came to Illinois. He also was Barry Alvarez's Chief of Staff at Wisconsin and is an Alabama graduate, so football is important to him and he understands what it takes to win.
I wonder how he is viewed by those in power in the state of Illinois? I'd like to hear more about him - he might be a good plan B candidate if none of our big alumni show interest.
True, but at this point, aren't the details of the open left to others? I don't imagine the head of Australian Tennis is involved in day to day operations. Kinda like the ad being responsible for game day operations.
Additionally, a good leader should always have a succession plan in place. Team Australia would decide if Tiley's recommended successor eventually takes over, but for a short term issue, if he were to leave, his recommended person would probably handle the open.
There's never an ideal time to leave a job.

Hearing Illini AD search likely 2b a 3-5 week adventure. FWIW.
Nope. Getting fired generally means you get a severance package. Quitting gets you nothing.Unless you're about to get fired.
You mean the guy that is from Cincinnati and went to Xavier, and is from almost the same coaching tree as Groce... If you're looking for a big change, he isn't it, and I don't see him leaving Xavier for Illinois... :tsk:Dream scenario: we hire Greg Christopher who worked at Bowling Green and is now AD Xavier he hires Dino and we get Chris Mack to coach basketball.
Guys, hold onto your butts, a hire is extremely imminent:
Sarcasm? 3-5 weeks is not imminent, when last week it was thought to be this week. Of course, Macovic thought it should take 6-9 months.
I'm being sarcastic because JeffJ is always wrong.
