If we're looking to really compete and pay well, I make him one of the top paid assistants in the country. I think his ability to recruit Chicago along with a top notch coach could make us a perennial contender. Not sure if money and his alma mater are enough to get him away from Lawrence, but I sure as hell try. We need someone big to help us win the battles for the Jabari Parker, Jahlil Okafor types.

Ah. Gotcha. Well that makes me feel pretty good, if true. I was never all that excited by him. I feel like his ceiling is a Sweet Sixteen here and there every 5 or so years, though his floor also seems to be higher than what we've had here the last few years.

He's a lawyer, so I do believe that they haven't started reaching out, but I don't for a second believe they haven't put feelers out through intermediaries/surrogates. So, it's not technically a lie. That's my guess.
