Could not find "zookish" in Merriam-Webster. Are there any synonyms for this adjective?
Colangelo is a legend but....there is some truth to this.
That's the thing with Shad Khan too. Big time guy in the industry. But a record of sports-related decision making that scares you.

Calipari is a pretty mediocre in game coach
That symbol is also used by fans of the Arizona Wildcats. I believe Archie's brother coaches at Arizona, and this would be Sean Miller's son in the picture right? Looking a bit hard into nothing here.
Hasn't it been hinted at that Archie has no interest in the Illinois job, anyways? I think this is one candidate we should forget about unless something of substance emerges that tells us otherwise.
If I were him, I'd assign a couple of interns to comb through the boards and random articles daily. Rumors trickle out, people dig up dirt...there's even the definite possibility that random fans think of out-of-the-box coaching candidates that could be worth investigating. Fans also occasionally identify talented high school players before the scouting community does. In the information age, every organization should (with extreme caution and skepticism) channel the public hive mind. If Whitman does anything like this, it's probably not his time he's spending - probably low level staffers who prepare weekly one-pagers for him or something.
I remember a famous dodgeball team that used that same symbol.
Most organizations assign somebody to social media / internet boards. This is mainly for damage control and rumor mitigation. Monitoring these outlets is the bare minimum for engagement these days.
Whitman likely only hears about stuff if it is EXTREMELY detrimental to himself, his staff, the players, or the University. Otherwise, it is likely 100% handled by lower people within DIA.
Rumored? Because of this?
Archie Miller is an NC State alum. Guessing that has something to do with the gesture. Assuming his nephew may also attend.
If they were holding anything Illini, we'd all be jumping to conclusions.

I would assume Archie Miller knows this is false, considering the Chicago recruiting success he's already had at Dayton.Jeff Goodman from ESPN was just on Chicago Radio. Said that the thing that hurts the perception of Illinois in the coaching world is that it is thought that you have to get "dirty" to recruit in Chicago right now.
Illinois is a better basketball job than any of those three. Here's a pretty well put together look at Archie and Illinois. I would say slim and none and if he does talk to Whitman it mostly likely would be to get a pay raise while he waits for one of the few offers he would take. He's turned down Pitt, Texas and Florida to stay at Dayton.

Florida and Texas as about as good as it gets from a profesisonal stand point. For these two jobs, and I would put OSU in the same boat, you are given all the resources you could possibly want without the ridiculous expectations that come with some other jobs (UCLA, Indiana, etc.).
Don't have to look much further than Shaka as to why these could possibly be better jobs.
