That ryan periscope was brutal....Tough to take that report seriously. I've got to believe no one knows anything at this point. If it's a coach currently in the tourney I don't see how the deal is done.

I agree, it's probably not true. But with the Cuonzo thing going down, there is extra incentive to try and lock our recruits up quickly.

I really don't think it's Tony Bennett. I think this will be just to give him a raise at UVa. I don't think he is the type of guy who would do anything to recruit the Chicago area. I really think it ends up being Kevin Keatts, Archie Miller, or Bryce Drew. I would be happy with either of those guys

We won't hear anything until at least Monday. If it stretches past that and a few candidates are still in the tournament, we can assume it's one of those guys. Or that we've screwed the pooch entirely.

How easily could Bennett's camp leak information through other sources about rumored interest from Illinois so that he can get a raise?

Very easily.

Wouldn't even need to leak anything. He can just go directly to his AD and tell him to up the ante.

Isn't it amazing how the one time the big, miraculous thing happened for Illinois - Lovie - none of the "insiders", either professionally or on this board had it until it was already done?

It's almost as if the speculation IS the product these folks are selling. Hmmm

Or because no one had a reason to dig there because it came out of nowhere and involved what like 4 people (Whitman, Lovie, Lovie's son, and Ron Turner).

Not saying most of it right now isn't smoke and mirrors, but I think it's a very different scenario.

Given the amount active of users on scout, 247, rivals, etc - seems like a great business model.
