So is the consensus that JW has his guy, and its like 80% chance LL?
Right, the difference is that OSU wasn't paying Underwood a market rate salary, flowing from him making peanuts at SFA.This creates the same kind of opportunistic saltiness when Okie State told BU they’d pay him final four money once he got to the final four, after using the same players to pull a full 180 in only one year. The last thing they saw were BU’s taillights.
I bet Herman would love a scenario where UT is left standing alone. This would be a dream scenario for me... But there’s a $15M hurdle that says “Not gonna happen.”
I think it's less about whether he gets hired, and more about predicting the precise type of degeneracy that will take place on this board before Sunday.
Either way, my guess is it will involve GIFs.
I don't know about a worse run, but I agree that Lovie is leaving this program in a better state than Beckman did. Beckman left the program with non-B1G type players and no real pipeline. Lovie definitely got some better talent in (enough to start winning day 1...not sure). However, the pipeline/relationships might be worse off. Listened to Tay & Piper's show the other day with the Loyola coach on and he said that Illinois did not step foot in his building once..ONCE in two years?!! They just gave up trying to recruit there I guess. Now that Lovie cleaned things up after the Beckman **** show, we will not, under any of the coaches named on this thread, have a worse 5 year run record-wise.
Agree completely! Good listen thanks for sharing..Not thrilled with the idea of Leipold, but do not hate it either. I have listened to several interviews with him and have been impressed with his demeanor. Much better than our last MAC coach. Lasagna!

Arkansas has 2 10 win seasons and 1 11 win season in 29 years in the sec. 14 seasons theyve gone 5 wins or worse. Houston Nutt in 10 seasons, 75-48 overall, 42-38 SEC, and Bobby Petrino Four seasons, 34-16 overall, 17–15 SEC, its tough to win the sec..So yeah, ignoring his 29-34 overal record 11-29 sec record at a school that thinks their better than they really are doesn’t bother me. Especially when he failed to realize Arkansas doesn’t win playing i-formation smash mouth football, he tried to be alabama playing smash mouth football and yes it failed miserably. But there are alot of coaches go to the sec and fail, hes not the only one.But you can ignore his failures at Arkansas?
And expected amount of playing time. Not saying it happens often, but I can definitely see why a kid might do that. Can go to a FCS school that loses all the time, or go to a dominant D3 school and play in championships. Also, depends on the location of the school.
Admittedly, I'm a huge Tate fan. Everything except for his baseball fandem that is.I heard he was born in ‘22 and his all-time favorite Illini is Doug Altenberger. BUSTED! Hi, Loren.
OMG!!!!Low key wondering if Tom Herman may not be so dead in the water an idea right now...
uhhhh, I thought we were looking for a more offensive minded football, not more offensive football. Here are the plays per game (2020) from most of the teams affiliated with our coaching search.

Interesting. I don't know what to make of that. I do like these stats for Buffalo, however:Here are the plays per game (2020) from most of the teams affiliated with our coaching search.

3 Texas A&M
4 Coastal Carolina
5 Ohio St.
6 App State
7 Notre Dame
8 Ole Miss

To be fair, you should probably include Arkansas' 30+ years prior to 1990.......259-96-8 (.730 winning %). The old Southwest conference (Nebraska, Oklahoma, Texas and Arkansas) was probably the best conference in the nation over that time frame. Historically speaking, Arkansas is a much, much better program than Illinois --- and the SWC had more power teams than the Big 10.Arkansas has 2 10 win seasons and 1 11 win season in 29 years in the sec. 14 seasons theyve gone 5 wins or worse. Yeah. Plays per game is a pretty weird stat to draw conclusions from. It’s not like possessions in basketball where there’s a direct relationship with number of points scored. How about
Also: Yards Per Play:
1. Buffalo
2. Alabama
3. BYU
I wonder if that might have any impact on "Plays Per Game" rankings....it's a mystery.
JW has his guy = YES, with 98% certainty. So is the consensus that JW has his guy, and its like 80% chance LL?
It came from the same poster who criticized the 578 yards that Buffalo gave up vs. Kent State but left out that Buffalo won the game 70-41, so maybe not that weird.Yeah. Also interesting. I didn't think to look that up. My infantile football brain tells me Buffalo must be good at preventing the big play, which accounts for their mediocre time of possession and plays per game, along with the excellent yards per play, of course. How about

Quick, call JW......My daily pitch for Bill Bedenbaugh - Sooner Co-Offensive Coordinator/Offensive Line
* He was named one of Rivals.com’s top 25 recruiters of 2017, ’18 and ’19, and was a finalist in 2017 and a semifinalist in 2018 for the Broyles Award
*Presided over a 2018 OU offensive line unit that was recognized as the nation’s best with the reception of the Joe Moore Award.
*Was part of an Arizona offensive unit that led the Pac-10 and ranked ninth in the nation in passing (307.7 ypg) in 2010.
*Coordinated an Arizona rushing game that ranked second in the Pac-10 in 2008 (158.4 ypg) as the Wildcats averaged 402.4 ypg of total offense, the fifth-highest single-season mark in school history.
*Part of an offensive staff that helped Texas Tech lead the Big 12 in total offense and rank sixth in the nation at 448.8 ypg in 2006. Texas Tech also ranked 13th among FBS teams in scoring at 32.5 ppg.
*Was named NCAA Division II Coordinator of the Year after helping lead Ferris State to a division-best 534 ypg in 1999.
*Was a four-year starter at Iowa Wesleyan as a lineman for Mike Leach, who Bedenbaugh later worked for at Texas Tech.
Has played for or Coached with Hal Mumme, Mike Leach, Lincoln Riley, Bob Stoops, Josh Heupel, Mike Stoops, Sonny Dykes. His offensive pedigree along with being the Top Offensive line coach in College football is a huge plus. Throw in the fact he is a top national recruiter and the one assistant OU fans are most scared to lose. He is 48 and has learned from two of the best head coaches in football since 2013. He is my pick and would be an absolute steal if we could get him.
I can't believe how quiet the search has gone. You have to assume he interviewed more than like 4 people, but maybe that's all he needed. Either way, the people that were a part of the search and are being considered are damn good and staying quiet about itJW has his guy = YES, with 98% certainty.
Personally, I'm at 20% that it's LL. And no one else is greater than 20%.
No Oklahoma, Nebraska in the SWC, but your point is well taken. To be fair, you should probably include Arkansas' 30+ years prior to 1990.......259-96-8 (.730 winning %). I speculate that Frank Broyles/Arkansas entered the SEC in 1991 thinking they could easily become the conference's premiere team! I certainly agree that BB was a major disappointment when considering the lofty expectations of the fans and alums.
I'd put it at:JW has his guy = YES, with 98% certainty.
