If those are our new uniforms I'll be disappointed. Incredibly generic 90s/00s look. If we want to change it up and not invest in a real design, then just wear the current 80s throwback unis as our only kit, they are at least good looking and classic.

My opinion as well. These jerseys are like a music festival I once attended called SnoreAPalooza. ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ wake me when the jerseys have a personality.

Just win games. I don't care if they're wearing shorty-shorts from the 70's. Just win games.

I wouldn't complain if we adopted the football stripes, but please keep the new font. I think it's sleak, and I see no need to return to the mid-2000s font. Also, I thought the zig-zags were a cool callback to the Chief, but I guess I'm alone in that...?

Would rather just go with Fighting ILLINI on front with school stripe colors down side with Alumni names ghosted in on back...a wall of fame so to speak. Maybe it would be appealing to get players here who would want their name on a jersey some day?

Just no Zig Zags again.

Not hardly.

The zig zags were cool to me at first.........but now they just remind me of mediocre non NCAA tournament teams and it leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

I also prefer minimalist designs in general.

Because it is 2017, not 1989. Time to move on and make a new identity. The past is over.

Wear the throwbacks once a year. Braggin' Rights game, or a big conference matchup. Like if we ever make College Gameday again.

If it isn't broke, why fix it? They look GOOD. Move on to what? Zig Zags on the side? That seems like we're stepping back into middle school if you ask me

I believe changes are in the works, but I wouldn't expect anything in time for the beginning of the season. Tons of new jerseys debut in February leading up to the tournaments. Illinois has always gotten the shaft on special new uniforms, but I bet Nike will consider hooking us up with BU's desired changes for the late season push.

Please lose the 1LL1NO1S font. That is all, carry on.

I never understood the "We can't go back to the old uniform because well... we can't!" argument. It's a classic look that doesn't seem forced or dated and it's not something that would need to be updated every 3 years. I know that's not what Nike wants because they just want to sell fresh updated merch, but replica college basketball jerseys probably aren't a big piece of their revenue pie.
I have no problem going back to a look that we used to have for the simple reason that it's better than what we have now. Take the Rams and the Brewers as examples. They both screwed up big time by changing their color scheme from Royal and Gold to Navy and Old Gold. No one would care if they went back because they'd be going to back to a far better look. I realize that changing uniform designs and changing the whole brand look, colors and all, isn't exactly apples to apples but whatever.

Because you are in the mindset that if we keep the '89 uniforms, it means we will play like we did in '89. Doesn't work that way. You can't plug that to a recruit either. "I know these uniforms are 30 years old, but they really looked good 30 years ago" when recruits want what LeBron and Steph Curry are wearing.

Well, at least Golden States primary uniforms do a good job of respecting their uniforms of the 70's and early 80's while adding some subtle modern touches. I would much rather see us do that than trust some artsy person at nike to come up with what we ended up with.
