If the University is smart they would just lick their wounds, redo the DIA policy and let him play out the season. As the ruling states the court finds the suspension did hurt TJ. U of I would be in a world of hurt financially if the criminal case ends in exonerating TJ in a manner a civil jury finds in hindsight blindly oblivious. And holds U of I responsible for damages.

When will we hear a response from the University and DIA, JW?

I'd think that they ALL have to circle the wagons and figure this out before saying a word. We have people cheering, but how long does this protect TJ's ability to remain in good standing? If it's 10 days(just throwing that out there), I don't see any way that he's getting into a game? If he's covered all season...then I suppose you take the reigns off?

This has some serious national implications. What about situations where a player was dismissed from the team due to criminal charges, like Arterio Morris at Kansas? Was he dismissed due to a Title IX review so that dismissal is okay according to this ruling? Can the Illinois just hold a Title IX review tomorrow and still conclude TSJ should be suspended thus affording him due process that the judge determined was denied?

Genuinely asking. Even though this cleared him to play, is there any chance behind the scenes Brad has been discouraged to play him or any chance he's treated different from the DIA?

"Defendants are enjoined from suspending Plaintiff from the basketball team without at least affording him the protections of the OSCR Policy."

So how long until the university gets the full oscr policy done and re-suspended??
Oh sometime after the season is over. I am sure they have other things to do. Perfect result. University fought vigorously and their reputation is intact and Shannon gets to play

Right? People online saying he’s going to be benched or the school will suspend him again. They can’t, right?

After this ruling? TSJ team would kill them in a lawsuit.

Innocent until proven guilty is the winner here.
The court of public opinion, prompting a judgement (suspension) by the University policy to shield itself from that court of public opinion, prohibiting this process to play out as it should in a court of law, should not be allowed to dismantle his life while he is presumed innocent.
