Just interested to hear what happened from insiders point of view. Several weeks ago insiders were saying he's like Damonte Williams to Brad and how much Brad loves him.

Not looking to piss anyone off. Just curious if anyone with a know can provide more info

Insiders, please divulge everything. This is not how I wanted to start the season
He was going to play maybe 10-12 minutes a game this year….you just can’t roll out 5-4 on the offensive end for 30 minutes a night….cant hide him this year….and he’s super turnover prone…..Brad would be happy to play him in that 10-12 minute role….but Ty has to be willing to do it too.

Ty can find better than 10-12 mins per game. Low key annoyed at Underwood for doing this to him. No loyalty at all and over recruiting a program guy. Not a bench player...a program player

I’m assuming his shooting and offensive game did not come around this summer? Does he have attitude issues that will impact the team chemistry? We don’t need the mess we had a couple of years ago!

Is this a joke? Attitude issues? This is Ty Rodgers...not Jayden Epps. Have you not been watching this program for the last 2 yrs? Ty is the epitome of a consumate teammate and everyday guy. He was at BIG media day for god sakes. If he had attitude issues, do you really think Underwood would have had him represent the team? Awful take

Did Sincere have attitude issues last year? Naw we will be fine.
No, but this seems very abrupt. I guess for some that may not make the NBA, it might make sense to hang around college longer for big NIL if you can get it. Coleman sure took advantage of it.

Except when he's not guaranteed significant playing time apparently.

There is one guy on this roster that was here ~180 days ago. That was a choice by the staff and specific players. The season could be a total failure or booming success, but it isn't related to the slogan having zero connection to reality.
So why did you connect 1 players decision to tearing it down...

Yes, he truly seemed to be. Pretty much the face of the program during the off season. But to give up and not compete for minutes seems out of character for him.

I think the two questions in terms of anything besides us never seeing Ty take the floor again are

1. Injuries. If Ty becomes a NEED player all the sudden can this be revisited? We shouldn't be too precious about it, there would be a financial component to that conversation.

2. Ty will go to the highest bidder next year. Is there a world where BU is motivated to be the highest bidder? I doubt it, but things may change in unexpected ways.

Again this isn’t anything against Ty…Ty is great, plays hard, has a great attitude. Hell he even had to help Tomi with which way to go after the handshake line in the intros, he had a big smile on his face when that happened
Any chance with a year to improve offensive game he comes back. A full year instead of a summer can go a long way to developing game. I’m sure it’s unlikely but is there any shot?

Underwood’s job is to win ballgames. It’s become abundantly clear his formula is putting offensively talented firepower on the floor. It’s working.
Yes. Year 2. Really minimizing defense.

I wonder if he feels it's easier to pull off great offense with newcomers than it is to mold them into plus defenders.

Pretty easy to keep a good attitude when you’re getting paid handsomely to sit on the bench. Shoot, it probably takes me 4 or more years of a 9-5 to make what he is being a hype guy and a practice player.

"doing this to him" - BU is going to play the guys that maximize his chances of winning. He's not "doing anything" to Ty.

Furthermore every coach that wants to keep his job is trying to recruit over their current guys.
