We lost this game because we missed too many wide open 3's and a bunch of layups.
UConn had nothing to do with most of those.
On a "normal" shooting night, we would have beaten them by a dozen, a good night we win by 20+.
Charles Barkley knew it.
UConn is a good team, we are a better team, we just picked a bad night to let the Yips gets us.
Oh well, on to next year! (Man, saying that really, really, really, really hurts!)
GO ILLINI.

This team was a ton of fun and a great follow.
But In short time we will see if this group plays for the name on the front. Portal is open soon. As far as the don’t judge me on wins and losses quote from Brad, Well it’s a business, but coach if that is your feelings then don’t look for bigger more lucrative contracts based on wins and losses here at the U of I.

Taris Reed physically imposing his will on Z would be the reason.
I just watched the replay and Reed scored 3 points while being guarded by Z. The one mistake Z made was when he got stuck guarding Karaban.

I mean i get your point, but Uconn did it.
I was nervous all season when so much of our offense was match-up hunting with freshmen (Mirk/Wagler). They definitely exceeded realistic expectations.
I think this was probably the ceiling for this team.
Pretty decent ceiling.
Excellent points.

I see how Brad and the staff - keep trying to build to the level both offensively and defensively that we have received a face full of in our games against UCONN, Duke and UM over the past couple of years.

We're making progress. But not there yet. Mirk, definitely the most improved player this year and if he works on his body he will be a force to be reckoned with.

Andrej is going to be our number 1 option offensively. I am confident he will move into that role fairly seamlessly.

Tomi, Z and Jake simply have improve YoY as most players do. The wild card(s) for us? - How strong is TY and can he perform physically? Not worried about his improvement. He is one of the smartest players we have ever had. He's had 2 years to work on his shooting. How good are any of the incoming Freshmen? And let's just leave it right there. No one knew who Keaton Wagler was a year ago. Finally, we have to think some of the top Croatian and Serbian players would like to come to Champaign after what they saw this season. The pipeline is open and fortunately its not for natural gas or oil!
