Hurts to go out like this. Really proud of the team this season, but I didn't want to go out looking like scrubs and that is exactly what we looked like today. Thank you Illini for such a great year. I will miss those not on this team next year.

Incredibly, almost unbelievably, depressing end for this group. After being so tough and resilient all year, they faded at the worst and most crucial time. With that said, what a pleasant surprise of a season. We haven’t been at this stage for almost two decades. Let’s let this amplify recruiting and get ourselves back.

Unfortunately had a feeling this is how it was going to go in the 2H after watching that first half. Knew UConn was going to come out swinging and we needed to respond-safe to say we didn’t.
Helluva year though. That team is an absolute juggernaut and will walk to another title. Just unfortunate we played our worst game of the year at the worst time.

I don't read it that way. I think he was upset because he cares. What reason does he have to leave? He has been given plenty of opportunities, but he has to learn to shoot. That is on him.
Great season, UConn is another level. I didn’t think we’d win. But underwood crapped the bed today. Nothing you can do now. But tied at 23 and then down what 28-23 at half and you run Rodgers back out there. It’s just not good enough. At least freaking try something else.

I’m not even mad, just shocked…
This is the best Illinois team in the past 19 years. I’m not letting a horrible end to the season ruin my happy memories of the season. Connecticut simply was a better team than Illinois this day, and there’s nothing that can be done about that.

The pivotal point was 23 all and TSJ got fouled on trying to secure a defensive rebound and it just seemed to let all the air out of the tire. We couldn't tough out the mental adversity to turn the tide.
Ty's going to come back and be something special next year. Sometimes you need to be beat by the best and look awful to raise your game to the next level. He really grew this year and I look forward to see him back next year after a summer to think about this and grow.
Good run. Enjoyed watching this team.
I just. Sucks it ended like that. I hope it’s not another 19 years to get back. I’m sad that we aren’t gonna get to see Terrance and domask ever wear the uniform again. What a fun season. I hope everyone has the perspective to enjoy this season for what it was. We hinted at it before. We announced it this year. We are back.
Oh, another positive: we did not, in fact, lose 99-0... though at one point, it certainly looked possible, lol.
