Coaching has been great all year, but not sure who decided the game plan should be to drive into Clingan. His length, coupled with an extremely loose whistle, got us sped up and we lost our composure and couldn’t fight our way out of it.

Wish we would have gone out playing a good game but UConn is really really good.

Still a great season. As much as this game pains me, I will not let anything take away this season from me.

I am a little worried how TSJ's draft prospect might be affected by this game, similar to how Ayo's draft stock fell following the Loyola Chicago game
Nothing TJ could do about that. We had absolutely no game plan to get the big guy out from under the basket, then a ref crew that was going to let em play does not play into our contact / free throw game.

They are good, but Brad had no answers for when the wheels started coming off.

Doesn’t Cam Spencer have the Bohanon face! 🤛

Obviously wanted a win, but this is part of the journey. Virginia and Purdue had much more humiliating losses as 1 seeds and rebounded magnificently the following years. The loss to Loyola helped Brad evolve. Duke lost by 30 to UNLV then came back the next year and won their first title. Players looked tight the last two games. The weight of history. Maybe this was just a magical year with two great transfers playing magnificently. Maybe this is the moment we all point to 20 years from now when other teams hate us for being a dynasty. Either way it was fun.

It sucks that we didn't come out with more fight in the 2nd half. It still doesn't come close to diminishing the fun and enjoyable season these kids and staff gave us all year. This group had to fight through so much both on and off the court to reach this point. Thank you coaches and young men for the incredible ride you took us all on.

Great season for sure. Losing all composure on that type of historic level was very surprising and extremely dispiriting. Shannon just didn’t show today for whatever reason, but I’m eternally gratefully for his incredible Illini career. Going forward, we really need a post defense that neutralizes our vulnerability to big centers.

What a ride! I absolutely loved watching this team. Great chemistry, tough players, and just all around fun to watch.

Keep your heads up guys, nobody’s beating UConn and this Illini fan is proud of you guys!

The season was still successful and we can't forget that. This was a connected team that gave us a season of great memories and we'll never forget the contributions from Terrence Shannon, Marcus Domask, Coleman Hawkins, and the rest of the squad. They will be one of the most remembered teams in line with the Frank Williams/Corey Bradford/Brian Cook/Sergio McClain/company teams from the early 2000s. But, this wasn't their night and I think we as a fanbase have to be realistic that they had troubles against most of the top teams in the country(Purdue twice, Marquette, Tennessee). The Iowa St win validated the season as a success in my book and hopefully the books of all other Illini fans.

I am not surprised by the end result. I fully expected UConn to win but hoped for a competitive game. We got a competitive game for one half but the Illini clearly were overwhelmed and overmatched. Outclassed and outcoached in all facets of the game tonight. BU reverted back to not making in game adjustments and halftime adjustments. I fully put this loss on our coaching staff for not adjusting as the game went. BU's stubbornness in saying they would continue to attack Clingan was one of the dumbest things I've heard him say since he became our coach. With that said, I still support Underwood and glad he's our coach. But, this loss falls on Underwood and coaching staff.

Players should still hold their heads high. They provided Illini Nation with memories and great times

I'm fine now. We just literally sh@t our pants at our wedding as we kissed the bride! That's all! No big deal. The marriage will still last forever.

It's all on Bezos because that alien super genius failed to deliver my last bit of orange juju that had rolled us through the last 4 games.

It's almost laughably stupid now. Bill Murray in UConn blue? Driving to the basket for the 625th time only to get blocked AGAIN?

Whatever. It's playoff hockey now.

I should go wash my underwear. 🧡👀

A hell of a season. Our best in 19 years, even when you factor tonight.

Say what you want about our gameplan, but I do believe we hit a potentially generational buzz saw. I’m not sure this UConn team is losing again.

Sad to see our seniors go.
I think Purdue has a legit shot to beat them. Klingan not gonna dominate Edey. Purdue not as deep a team but starting 5 just as good as U Conn.

Hurts to go out like this. Really proud of the team this season, but I didn't want to go out looking like scrubs and that is exactly what we looked like today. Thank you Illini for such a great year. I will miss those not on this team next year.

What a season, Loyalty friends...
UConn makes everyone look like scrubs. I wouldn't be surprised if they win the last 2 games by 10+. I knew we were basically screwed when we drew them.

Great season. One of my favorite teams over the years. Didn't end as planned but they rarely do. In Brad I Trust. Looking forward to next year!

RESPECT for having a game plan (trying to foul out Clingan) and sticking to it. Sure didn't work, and sure made for an ugly result, but that was a good scout.
It's funny I was thinking the same thing. It made sense in theory as a game plan.

But the refs were letting a lot of contact go tonight and Clingan was prepared and relaxed in combatting our drives and just put on a spectacular performance.

It's crazy they only have him for 5 blocks, he induced at least 6-7 more desperation heave bricks to avoid him.
