RESPECT for having a game plan (trying to foul out Clingan) and sticking to it. Sure didn't work, and sure made for an ugly result, but that was a good scout.
Agree. Maybe should’ve abandoned it a little earlier, but it made sense. Clingan obviously tipped the scale in their favor, and getting him out would’ve changed the game.

And we DID adjust at halftime… came out shooting threes vs driving on Clingan, but missed 8 in a row (while also going 1 for 11 on twos).

Losing on a last second miracle shot, that is hard to get over. I’m already over this one.

I think Brad did make halftime adjustments. We started shooting more threes in the second half. But when they were not falling, we started to panic and defense just completely collapsed. And it just spiraled out of control.
Those adjustments were not made until UConn jumped us for the 2nd straight half. It took another 9 or 11-0 run before the team started passing the ball more and taking more intelligent shots. At that point, it was 39-23 and the game was lost. I do not credit Underwood for making that adjustment when it was already too late. That adjustment should have been made first second of the 2nd half

To quote @sacraig “Something something bracket of death…”

It was unfortunate that Illinois got placed in the same region as that juggernaut of a team. Any of the other three #1 seeds would’ve been preferred, but like they say, “You can pick your nose. You can pick your friends. But you can’t pick your friends’ nose’s bracket region.”

One of the most physical games I can remember at this level of the tourney. They pushed our guards out so far we could never get in any rhythm and driving the middle was a disaster. Hard to complain because I think the better team won, but wish a few things had gone our way and we could have made it closer. Great season and congrats to the guys for not giving up.

This game will take a long, long time to get over. I still love this team. I just need to Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind this one out of my memory hole.

If Easter is your thing, I hope you have a really lovely one tomorrow. If not, I hope tomorrow is beautiful in its own way.
You'll be over it once UConn sends Clemson/Alabama packing. Trust me.

It wasn't our best game, not sure it would have made a difference but I would have liked to see Clingan in foul trouble early, like he should have been in a normal called College game!

Every year only one team ends the season with a win. It sucks it wasn't us, but if you told me we'd be an Elite 8 team at the beginning of the year, I'd be ecstatic. This team went through a lot. I'm only disappointed for them to go out the way they did. Thank you for an entertaining year.
